Miss Freeones Contest this year,

If a contest happens like Miss FreeOnes, it would probably be the latter part of next year. Unfortunately, there's a lot of things that desperately need attention first. Like getting rid of the flash video players.

I'm back a day a week and it's still in pieces!

You were always inadequate. Nothing changed, move on, nothing to see here.

I called it in its current form. If and when it's brought back, it'll have to be something new and fresh. It was pretty clear last year that the current format was done to death. I'm never going to say never, but at the moment I know for a fact a contest like this isn't possible.

What parts of it, out of curiosity, do you think need changed? Categories, voting, prizes, length, nominations?

If I were allowed, I would love to help, even if just a brain storm of ideas.

Worse part for me was an OSCM complaining about my posts on the board instead of talking to me about it 1st. But good came out of it, none the contestants that I supported were the ones and it really put out a nice gesture from Miss Hybrid to me

Pretty much the whole thing.

The first year was pretty much throwing everyone together, there weren't any categories. But all the contests after that were pretty much the same format from the categories, voting, and prizes. Sure, we tried a few things like donating credits to the grand prize, or voting from the FreeOnes babe sections vs. on the contest site itself.

But from the participation level (even via regular board members) and traffic it was pretty clear to me that the format was just done and it was folly to try to do it again without a massive change. It's kind of like the Superbowl half time show or even the Superbowl commercials. What we had in the 90s wouldn't work today because that format was done to death and we need something bigger, better, and more spectacular to be entertaining.

I think the only thing we were spot on with was the length of time and even then I think it could still be slightly shorter.

I'll hit you up if/when I decide to get involved in anymore big contests. I've been approached by a few people, but nothing really serious has come out of it (or that I want my name associated with). Who knows, maybe in a year I could be doing a big contest associated with Customs4U (sorry, I refuse to do anything this massive while we're trying to relaunch, I'm insane, but not THAT insane).

Were you happy with the format of having a voting pool of 100 contestants one week, then 20 the next week and lastly 5 for the grand prize? Ignore my numbers here as they are likely totally unrepresentative of the actual figures. Would cutting it down to 2-3 stages of voting be desirable? Personally I also disliked the heavy voting weight attached to senior community members (I think its alright for a weighting to exist but not the same extent in the future) and I wonder how much that skewed results.

As things stood before, there really was no criteria as to just exactly what qualifications the nominees had to have. With the other categories, the qualifications were obvious, solid and unmistakable. With the Miss FreeOnes category on the other hand, there was just too much disagreement and controversy as to just exactly which girls were perfectly qualified and supposedly which ones had no business being in the running.

Some thought / believed that the Miss FreeOnes category should be ONLY for "True / Real" Pornstars ... and especially the BIG Name Pornstars, while Adult Models, Cam Girls, Solo Girls, Etc. were to have been definitely excluded from the running in that category. So yeah, with the Miss FreeOnes category being the undisputed Biggie of all the categories and with the biggest prize money to boot ... the criteria / qualifications should be officially clarified so as to avoid widespread drama and fights.

Haha, the drama was the only thing it had going for it last year and we didn't really even have a lot of that.

As far as the criteria goes, the biggest thing is to be as inclusive as possible. There's more to the industry than the porn stars as I've found out from working with Customs4U. ;-)

But, what other kind IS there? In any contest, even on the singing contest shows on TV, in one way or another, in some way, shape or form, there HAS to be eliminations. Sure, there can be changes made to the format, but there will have to be eliminations in some way in order to eventually get to a Winner or Winners.

Or are you referring to a format whereby the contest starts. The votes just add up, add up and accumulate. No one is eliminated. And at the end of the contest, those with the highest amount of votes in the various categories win ... and those that didn't get many or any votes will still be in the contest, but will wind up in 327th place or so or whatever the case may be?

I think the whole thing needs to be simplified. 2 or 3 rounds, no more than 10 categories and you get one vote per category each round.

Okay, here's a different format.

Instead of having us just vote for 1 girl in each category ...
We could vote for 3 girls in each category, assigning each one specifically be it 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. This would be done each day.

Respectively, of course, those 1st, 2nd and 3rd place designations would give the OCSMs corresponding vote weight accummlations, depending on how many of each they would get. Say all the 1st places they got would give them 3 votes each ... 2nd places would give them 2 votes each ... and 3rd places would give them 1 vote each.

With this format, theoretically, technically, a girl who received a ton of 2nd and 3rd place votes and no 1st place votes could actually beat out other girls who got a few to several 1st place votes, but not tons of votes overall in general.

I don't know. Just thinking out loud.
