A few months? Oooh boy, that's such a long wait! Ah well, that's alright, we can wait I am interested to know what is factoring in for a yes or no to the contest this year, as before this thread, I didn't even know there was an issue about whether or not it's happening. I was previously wondering what was going on since sign up time hadn't started yet, this thread just confirmed that I wasn't the only one wondering. I'm not going crazy! Ha I was beginning to think I was.

Anyway, best of luck figuring out a yay or nay.

I wouldn't necessarily call it arguing. For the most part, people seem to be (sometimes heatedly) discussing the issues the contest breeds and their frustrations. Even if one were to call it argumentative, in some ways is it not better to potentially address or diffuse a potential debacle now then when the actual event happens?

There will ALWAYS be a debacle when it comes to this..no matter what happens or who wins, someone will cry cheater, etc. It will never be diffused. People will debate over and over on how things should work.

Petra, do what you need to do to preserve your sanity : ) Whatever is decided, I'm good with it.

First of all, I'm not "ignoring" this thread. I actually pull 40+ hour weeks so I try not to post over the weekend so I can have some "non-work time."

Secondly, this is also the first time today I've been to anything other than the raffle thread. I haven't even been at my computer for about half of the day. You know how we keep harping the board isn't all of FreeOnes? Goes for our work too.

I'm sure I can write a long post about a lot of comments made in this thread. There's been some great suggestions and some good points. However, all I can let you do is speculate for the most part since there hasn't even been a yes or no to the contest.

These are a few things that stood out though....



Funny enough, I really can't tell you how many votes are board votes vs. anonymous because of the way that we have our system set up. Something that is very important to me (I actually created Miss FreeOnes, it's my baby) is that this be a FAN contest. There's been so many other ones out there that were supposed to be fan contests (at least fans get to vote) but weren't really.

So yea. I'm not going to get into this, but I also think releasing the statistics at the end of a contest isn't the worse idea ever.

And, even though the board isn't all of FreeOnes, it IS important. It's a very important part of FreeOnes, it's our community. But it's also only one part like how a babe section is only one part and how the video section is only one part. We can't realistically do all or nothing on ANY part of FreeOnes. It all needs love.

I'm not going to comment about the contest itself since I've yet to make an official announcement. Hopefully I'll be able to say yay or nay to a contest in a few months.

HOWEVER, IF I were to put my sanity in jeopardy and run this for a 5th time, there would be some changes to the categories.

If you run the contest,(I think your sanity may just take one more) I would suggest you divide the money up more equally, across all the categories and the main event, so that the board girls get more of a reward if they win, or get a place. I don't think many of the non board posting competitors actually know a contest is going on. So the reduced payout for the main title will have little effect. Stuff the sponsors for a bit more maybe?

Good luck with it Petra, I know organising the event is a huge undertaking, with little thanks and everyone expects it to run smoothly..., the moment it doesn't

There's a lot of factors going into this year, mostly behind the scenes that don't have a whole lot to do with the contest itself.

There will ALWAYS be a debacle when it comes to this..no matter what happens or who wins, someone will cry cheater, etc. It will never be diffused. People will debate over and over on how things should work.

Yup, someone out there will ALWAYS be a sore loser. Doesn't really matter what the contest is. Can be beauty pageant, a horse show (I remember loads of sore losers from those days), or a spelling bee. Someone will always blame their loss on someone or something.

And I always do what I can to preserve sanity.

I wish I could throw my ring in the hat to help with the technical aspect of things for the contest. I've been a mod before, but something tells me there is alot more stuff involved. I'm good with crunching numbers and enforcing the law. I am the Wolverine. @Petra I wish you the best of luck with whatever the decision is. Least ways, I'm glad that I had something of mention to say.

The traffic and recognition that a model receives when she's involved in the contest is GOLD. Most people have to pay for that kind of traffic. Unfortunately, I'd say only about 10% of the models entered realize this and the rest don't do anything with it. :crying:

There's quite a bunch involved. Dreaming up the contest and ways to do it is the easy part. Making those changes? Not so easy. Having a site as old and big as FreeOnes, and changing it, are two huge different things. Changes are a foot though, which is part of the reason for the delay in the contest. So this is why I said it doesn't have much to do with the contest itself but it's so massive that it effects the planning of the contest.

Freeones exists BECAUSE of the big names, from their affiliate dollars, from their advertising, from the HUGE names they bring into Freeones with FREE content for all.
If those big producers weren't here this site wouldn't have half of the traffic and exposure for all of us models/sluts that it does.

Let's not fuck it up shall we?

There are plenty of TGP's out there that have free content and forums, but you don't see them....
1. Having a contest where every girl is free to throw their name in the ring and then have those girls faces side by side with superstars for all to see.
2. Letting ANY girl with a website promote herself with galleries ( I can't tell you how many TGP's Have completely ignored my submissions)

THIS contest, THIS SITE is wide open for anyone, and the voting really is as fair as it could be.

This contest brings a spike to business for Freeones, and as much as everyone in the fucking world tries to vilify a company making money or trying to increase it's business, this is something that trickles down Petra's leg and benefits ALL OF US.

My personal sales OUTSIDE OF FREEONES have increase nearly 30% each of the last two years during the contest. It continues long after the contest ends.

Honestly, I know I will never win the main contest, I couldn't give a fuck, I make more money off of the increased exposure than the damn check first place gets anyway, I just want my face in the 3rd round if I can!

This contest not happening benefits NO ONE, except the crew inside Petra's brain that slaves away while it's going, and I'm sure they like the overtime pay

If you don't like it then don't vote, don't cost us the contest, and quit chasing off all the prime pussy that wants to hang out on the threads
