I have not made new years' resoultions, and do not plan to make one this year.
I would say it's in part based on knowing the difficulty in sticking to most things I might resolve to do, so why start the year off lying to myself. And things that are worth trying to actually do should not be put off until tomorrow, much less next year. Of course, the usual food, party games, friends, & prospectd of carnaly 'ringing in the New Year' probably has something to do with why resolutions are not at the top of my 'to do' list.

In answer to your question, Nikki, yes, I do make New Year's resolutions. This year it was to get fit and lose some weight. I made a great start for the 1st 3 and a bit months, and then badly twisted my knee, meaning that it totally threw my exercise regime, and I am back to square one (well maybe 8-9lbs lighter). My knee is still a little dodgy, but not so much that I can't exercise, it is just a matter of getting back into the habit. Normally New Years resolutions for me do not last that long. Giving up smoking only ever lasted until the morning (I have stopped now though - just not as a resolution), and exercise usually only lasted until I got bored of it. The one time I actually thought I was getting somewhere and I bugger up my knee - maybe someone's trying to tell me something...

honestly, i don't remember making any.... i've done the Lenten self-denail thing before. But Resoultions? I remember friends in high school talking about them. NOT to toot my own horn (insert 'if men were as flexible as dogs they'd never leave home' joke here) but frankly i'm pretty happy with my lift and myself. There's always something that could be better but if I dwell on what I dont have or want instead of what is i'll miss out on lots of great times.

So why resolve to lose weight when i can hit the gym today to burn off yesterday's 'oops i ate too much' and actually take a step to better fitness... tobacco isn't an issue... booze isn't a problem. LAST thing i'm gonna do is resolve to think about sex or view porn less (Ha!)... I already try to look out for and help my friends and not cause problems at least for strangers.

beyond that it's either things I'd want other people to think or do, and I've got zero control over that, or things too petty to waste time wishing for during the holidays when there's better people and things to be doing... well, hopefully, anyway, it is the 'bible belt.'

To Nikki Nova : My New Year resolution is not about something which most guys would want to do like solutions to their daily life activities/behave like quit smoking, marriage, drinking ets. But it is about earning at least $10 million from Jan to Dec 2011. I own a company and I would like to expand my business to other countries. I have done lots of preparations like documentations and buying new machines. I will make sure that I follow all the schedules for 2011 which has been prepared by me to achieve my target. So my resolution is I will make sure that I can meet the requirements of my clients at all time to ensure that they gets lots of satisfaction with my service and product. I have to work hard to achieve my target and accomplished my new year resolution. Thank you.

[Uh oh. I don't have one of those amd here's the additional problem. I live an hour and half away from any kind of a town AND since I am stuck in the midst of a move most of my stuff is in boxes and packed up. I do have a Lamb of God shirt somewhere for sure. I know this because 2 of the members are my brothers best friends from back home in Virginia. Hell Randy was his roomate for years and John Cambell is his best friend. Even if I find the shirt they gave me years ago however there is no one to take a pic of me in it. I am literally that isolated where I now. I guess I we are both left to pout now. :crying:

I appreciate you guys taking the time to give me some feedback on this. I am trying to be as active as I can throughout this contest and as I mentioned in the beginning of this thread, I write for 3 magazines. my website www.nikkinova.com, working on my book, art directing, working on cam a LOT esp right now to get money for my big move. Oh yeah ...and about that..I am in the midst of a major move to a new state DURING the holidays....and I am dong it 100% by myself except for the actual day of the move where I have 2 guys I've hired to help me. I am currently really far from anyone I know. All my friends are in the state I am moving to. I barely have any family anymore and the few that I do have live over 2500 miles away so...I am beyond busy and you guys letting me pick your brain to help me with my articles helps me top be able to participate here and still get my work done. I will be crazy busy over the next couple of weeks and will do the best that I can in being as active as possible here but just know that there will be days where it's just not possible.
