Common misconception. Guys with style = queer. :nono:

No, guys who dress like women and wear sandals like women = queers.

There's a reason the term "mandals" was coined. Because sandals are feminine...for chicks. So when modern men started wearing them outside of the jungle or desert, there needed to be a term to differentiate. I'm sure you guys started wearing skirt, somebody'd figure out a new name for that as well.

Nah. It's obvious you're from a different culture than me. I guess maybe I'm a "metrosexual," although those type of terms are subjective. I don't like to wear sandals outside of the house on the weekends or when I go to parties because growing up in my neighborhood nowadays I always think safety first; i.e., I need something on my feet I can kick someone in the face with. However, you can give a good swift kick to the face (or balls) of someone without shoes either. So...yeah...

All the preppy Irish fuckers I grew up with on the East Side dressed like preps, but threw down with the best of 'em.

Kilts are plaid. Kind of a specific thing there. Mark my words, in our expected lifetimes, men will start to wear skirt skirts. Supposedly heterosexual men. At first it'll be shocking and something only hipsters and celebrities do...then you'll see frat boys and suburban kids do it. Guidos in NY and NJ are wearing lip gloss...they're proudly wearing lip gloss. Black dudes are wearing skinny jeans! So yeah, it will happen.

And then, from my mountain top sanctuary, I'll drink whiskey and wait until an asteroid comes down so we can start over again.

I hope the asteroid comes first.

I dunno. I grew up in NY. Guineas wore sandals at BBQs and shit. I'm really from a different culture than anybody....I never dressed a certain way because of trends or peers. I dress neat, casual enough but also in a practical way. I've been with my girl nearly 8 years now, but before and since, I've never had a problem meeting girls or receiving some light flirting if I'm somewhere without her. So I don't think my "style" ever held me back.

Personally, yeah, I think men in sandals is just vile. Hell, I cringe and turn my head when those Tinactin commercials come on. It's a personal thing, not a learned or cultural one. Womens' feet can be super cute or incredibly sexy...but a man's feet are just repulsive no matter what they look like or how well you take care of yourself. I guess it makes sense to wear whatever's comfortable, but I dunno, that shit is beyond me.

maredsous

You avin' a laugh?
since i worked for adidas for quite a few years i've still got about 20 or so pair of those. i've also got some pumas and a couple of dress shoes. oh and a few pair of chucks.

Sneakers

Just wondering... all those who ONLY wear sneakers. Don't you have feet problems?
When younger I weared a lot and had a hell of problems (don't know how to explain in english) that's why I started taking a lot of care with shoes I wear (not a fashion thing)
As for the sandals=gay... maybe I'm calling sandal to something different, how do you call the shoes to wear when in the gym showers etc?

From LuLa... As I'm not english speaker I don't really know if you call sandals to the same thing I do...

I wear sandals specifically made for men. To be honest I've never heard them called mandals but I'm 43 so...:dunno:
