Mass Holocaust grave found in Ukraine

As to Dick Van Cock's opinion regarding censorship "of certain opinions" or the peculiar "anti hate laws" in Germany - I disagree, mightily. Free societies do not condone nor expect the suppression of thought, words and ideals, IMHO --- no matter what the sugar coated reason be.
All in all, another insightful post by you!

But it's our history, not yours. As I said, we may be paranoid on this subject, but we'd rather sustain this one taboo of holocaust denial.

... BTW Austria, who is lagging far behind in dealing with its Nazi past, follows in our footsteps on this issue. They jailed David Irving for it. Alright with me. There is still too much fascist ideology out there.

No doubt.

And they were also possibly helped by some of the Einsatzgruppen and definitely by some of the Heer forces in the area.

While the SS often indulged in attrocities, far too many Nazi frontline Heer units were involved as well.

cheers,

PS: I won't even bother posting about units such as the Sturmbrigade Dirlewanger etc.

Let's not also forget the Totenkopfverbanden along with their most famous ss division the ss totenkopf division http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Division_Totenkopf
The Totenkopf has been mentionned in every country where it used to be and it was lead by fanatics.

Ok, it's bad enough these people were killed in a mass genocide. But what's more degrading? Dying for the sake of a sick mans hatred, or having your bones dug up and fondled by scientists who will never be able to prosecute the killer?

Let their remains rest in peace. It's all they have.

a lot of good posts in this thread, particularly georges, dick & roughneck, albeit on a grisly subject
- it's a subject that i've a fair interest in too. i guess it must be something about seeing "man's inhumanity to man" at such an extreme level that make nazi germany, stalinist russia, china during the cultural revolution etc so fascinating to people interested in history all these years later
