With the success of movies with plots reminiscent of old stories and the movies making a lot of money off of people that used to buy comics maybe they should just admit they suck at creating comics in this day in age and stop the crap quality and delivery of their product instead of making countless gimmicks to try and cover for their ineptitude.

I didn't even know Jean Grey was dead again.
You may need a little catching up.

I agree totally! Instead of trying to rewrite history, they should try to build upon it by incorporating some fresh ideas that make sense and stimulate the imagination. After decades of stories in thousands of titles for thousands of characters, has the creative ceiling been reached?

They are going to mess up Marvel now.

I need some financial backers to start my own comic company.

We'll being trying to figure out impossible scenarios that writers have created because of the reboot, and then there will be a number of retcons to correct those impossible scenarios. At least it won't be as complicated as figuring out whether something happened before Crisis or after Zero Hour or during Infinite Crisis or after Final Crisis or before Flashpoint...YET!

I am a huge DC fan, so when the new 52 came out I had to get back into it. I followed comics a while back and just got so frustrated at how convoluted and confusing the stories got. But the new 52 changed all that. While I won't be picking up any of the new Marvel reboot, I think it is a good idea. It gives a fresh starting point for anyone who wants to get into comics.

It makes me feel sad for **** these days. They will grow up having a whole different appreciation and outlook of comics than I did....if they even get to read one ever.

Someday people are going to look back and wonder why the hell stories about the characters are so completely different based on the time they came out because of things like that. I would just like to see them try to retcon that in someday, because eventually what they are doing to try to simplify things will create the very problem hey are trying to avoid, and probably make it worse than before. This is the quick easy solution because they right one would be to inconvenient for them which would be to stop doing dumb crap and ignore the other dumb crap they did into discontinuity and be honest about why they are ignoring it.

Since the mid 90s it's like the Marvel, DC, and many others have virtually been in a perpetual and widespread "Dork Age". That should be the name of this era of comics in the modern era. If it keeps up there won't be a modern era of comics as much as the modern era will be a relatively small subset of time right before the dork age.

Ultimate Marvel is an imprint of comic books published by Marvel Comics, featuring reimagined and updated versions of the company's superhero characters, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four. The imprint was launched in 2000 with the publication of the series Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men. The characters have new origins, freeing them from the sometimes convoluted back-histories of the original versions. The universe has been designated as Earth-1610 within the Marvel Multiverse, which comprises an infinite number of alternate universes.

Why is there a need for a Marvel "Now" if there is an Ultimate Marvel?

Since Marvel will be changing everything anyway, why is there still an "Ultimate" Marvel?

Everything just needs to go back to normal.

The Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610) is a different reality than the main Marvel Universe (Earth-616). Marvel Now will be a "reboot" of the 616 universe, which doesn't affect the Ultimate universe, which doesn't have all of the characters that the main universe has.

BTW, Ultimate Spider-Man, prior to the death of Peter Parker, is my favorite version of Spider-Man. It's probably Bendis' greatest work. Even better than his run in Daredevil.

I know. I just think it is stupid to change the main universe when they created the Ultimate line for that purpose.
