She was a lousy actress IMO, but still a sex symbol icon that like someone mentioned will forever be remembered. For her sexy looks and the many controversies that surrounded her. I wouldn't say overrated per sey.

As for Hoover, he was a closet gay and a known cross dresser. I suppose a big scandal himself in Washington way before Monroe was. Funny how Hollywood and D.C. always seem to have their own 6 degrees of separation thing going. :dunno:

I've watched some old Marilyn Monroe movies and she was a gorgeous woman...even by today's standards...she would just as easily be a screen siren today. Of course she would probably play Laura Croft or something too. Not sure it's worth 1.5 million though...you can feed a sovereign nation with that...but this guy is gonna blow it on a 15 min video of supposedly Marilyn tonguing someone's ballbag.
