What do you prefer : Mangas or Comics (and their respective animated adaptations) ?

Dragon Ball, Death Note, Naruto, Bleach, City Hunter, etc ?
Or Superman, Spider-Man, Iron-Man, Batman, Hulk, etc ?

It's good to be the king...
Gave up on comics after multiple covers, and flashy art-work was considered more important than a good story...

I'd get comics because I don't like having to pay $7.99-19.99 for one book when at that price I can get a handful of different comic titles.

Though I still like Mangas. I try to get complete sets online if I am to partake.

I usually end up buying several mangas then takeing a long time to read them. Ill be at the store and think this looks good then put off reading it for months.

Oi oi! No mention of One Piece as a manga?

*sigh*
And after all this time of Roronoa and I referencing it....
Bleach is overrated anyways.

FYI also check out Berserk.

comics, just look at my name
i've got boxes i've had since i was a kid
i think my oldest is a batman from '54 (i was born in the 80s though, so don't read that the wrong way)

comics...i started reading them before manga really became as prominent as they are these days (in the u.s.), i do like mangas too tho especially ogenki clinic which is hilarious

I know but I can't mention them all.
I never said the ones I mentioned are the best, they are only examples.

What's makes it even worse is that's it's a medium where there is no reason a good story and good artwork shouldn't coexist if it's done right. It's not like it's any harder to put word bubbles in a page with good artwork than it is to put them in a page with mediocre artwork. It's also not like a movie where building a set or putting in special effects can literally cost millions of dollars. With a good writer and artwork department it doesn't take much more effort to produce the comic books than if they do a crappy job.

The plots in comics go downhill because (artwork goes downhill for pretty much the same reasons)

1. The writers aren't good at it.
2. They just done care.
3. Meddling by editors or even higher up gets in the way.
4. They don't plan very well and give themselves unrealistic time restraints

All those reasons are bad and there is no excuse for them.

Is somewhere outhere.
I used to enjoy reading the Commando comics when I was a kid.But
then the masturbation craze kicked in,and now I can't read anymore :D

This is a pretty tough decision to make. Comics are obviously more iconic, but it is hard to beat a good manga. The problem I usually have with manga and anime to a greater extent is the fact that more often than not, they end up being complete cluster fucks when they get to certain parts of their story. I can forgive this, however, do to mangas having the infamous reputation of not being afraid to "go there". In terms of extreme violence and sex, two things that stimulate all warm-blooded men, manga is king.
