Is my birth control preventing me from losing weight?
Hi! First time poster here. I just need some help here for I'm getting a bit frustrated.

A bit about myself- I'm a 5'1 F, 132lbs. I've been sticking to a strict diet (with a few cheat meals here and there) that allows me a max of 1500 calories a day, but I typically consume less than that. I workout 5-6 days a week combining both cardio and weights. For cardio, I do 15 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the stair climber. I try to run as often as I can, but I have bad ankles from a nasty horseback riding fall a few years back.

I've been sticking to this for about 6 months now. I have weighed the same (132lbs, give or take a few pounds depending on my menstrual cycle and other factors) from when I started to now. I feel like I should have much less body fat than I do. It's mostly occupying my belly, thighs, and love handles. I don't drink soda, very rarely consume alcohol, and rarely eat candy/sweets. I'm becoming a little discouraged because, like I said, I feel like I should be seeing more progress than I am. I'm not entirely worried about the number on the scale since I know muscle > fat. I'm beginning to think that my birth control (a combination pill) is the causing this. I've been on it for about 5 years now and never experienced weight gain until about a year ago. Now that I'm trying to lose the weight and build muscle, it seems nearly impossible. For those of you are more experienced than I am with health and fitness, could my birth control be preventing me from losing weight/body fat?
