Sorry to miss you guys for Thanksgiving! Nice pics to put up Ban, good choice I hope you all had a great one, aside from a very disappointed Dallas fan. I didn't watch it, in fact i imagine you would be surprised to know I don't even have cable! I got rid of it years ago and my total savings based on what I was paying then is over $8,500 so far! I watch this site called livetv.sx and it has every game being played anywhere in the world that is televised. Lots of pop ups though, and all kinds of tricks by advertisers, but if you are smart about it, after about 30 seconds you find the little 'x' to close the advertisements, and of course you NEVER click on something that says "You need to update..." or "You are not signed in..." cause its all bullshit. If any of you know of a better site for getting live NFL in particualr, let me know!

Anyway, had a completely Vegan Thanksgiving this year, which isn't really hard, normally only the turkey is not vegetarian to begin with, lots of stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, pumpkin pie, Chocolate cream pie, Cauliflower orange chicken (A cool recipe that uses cauliflower instead of chicken...love it!)

temp is fucking cold here, running in the 20's at night, only 40-50 during the day.

Had the discussion with Asia Carrera on Facebook, she has no turkey in her little family, too. I told her she could look at the german variation of thanksgiving, which is not about people coming into a new lamd, it is into celebrating a good harvest.

Had a pretty good Thanksgiving, went to the in-laws, so it was a longer drive but the food was good and we got back before dark. And since there was like 30 people there between the adults and kids, there was a big spread with 2 turkeys, mashed potatoes, sweet potates, dressing, corn, peas, beans, rolls, cornbread, pound cake, chocolate cake, caramel cake, pecan pie, apple pie, and cherry pie. So pretty much a little taste of everything and your full. It was also a good thing is was in the 70s and mostly sunny, so we could eat outside instead of crammed in the dining and living rooms.

I think you may actually be ahead of things a bit, Mandy, with watching all the games over the internet, as that seems to be where everything will be heading.

Glad you liked my selection of pics, Mandy, but you didn't comment on the stuffing of the cavities:

Although, given the look you have in the two we can see your face, I think we can probably count you as "pro stuffing"

The deal with Thanksgiving is that when the Pilgrims first came to the new world, by the contract that allowed them to come here, they had to run their new colony like a commune, where no one really owned anything and everyone got a piece of everything. This led to a horrible first winter, because they did what people do, and assumed others would do the work, so no one did, and thus many starved. Come the spring, the leader canceled the contract, divided up the land so that each familiy had their own property to work, told everyone they not only had to fend for themsleves, but could sell/trade anything beyond what they needed. This led to an abundance in the next winter, leading to the famed first Thanksgiving feast, thanking God not only for their religious freedom in the new world but for the bounty they received.
