This is the dramatic moment a wheelchair-bound gunman surrenders, after taking three people hostage during a nine-hour siege in a Virginia post office.
SWAT and bomb disposal teams sheltered behind an armoured vehicle as one-legged Warren ‘Gator’ Taylor, of Tennessee, left the Wytheville building with his hands in the air.
Taylor, who wears a prosthetic leg, then levered himself out of his wheelchair and onto the ground after ‘surrendering’ to a bomb disposal robot.
In a bizarre twist, police said his only demand during the siege was for a pizza, which was duly delivered.

Not to sound too harsh towards the handicapped, but couldn't those three people maybe get behind this guy's wheelchair and just shove (roll) this guy into a wall and proceed to escape? He claimed to have had explosives, and turned out he didn't. Usually if they have explosives they show it to prove their point, he did not. The same psychological effect many use on people when they wave a gun around.
If more folks knew how to defend [or arm] themselves they wouldn't be held hostage for nine hours by a man in a wheelchair demanding a pizza!
