What about the ridiculous gimmicky themes on general re insurance co's (geico) radio commercials ? "pile of money with the googley eyes" and "somebody's watching me" ? :wtf: ?
Truth is, when you advertise a product or a service, it's best to leave a lingering impression, if you will, a jingle ("somebodies watching me" song) and / or a device (there's your gecko) of some sort, even if it's annoying.
Whatever they're doing, it apparently works because Warren Buffet is no dummy.
Oh, one more thing, (general re insurance co.) geico is a publicly traded
entity, so what are their advertisement leaflets doing inside my department of motor vehicle registration mailer ? I know that the state of Calif is broke and all but I thought that this was a no no. :dunno:

I dislike affected accents supposed to typify a nation, like when Hollywood always used the same actor to represent Germany, or an Indian, or Chinese etc. Also, there is too much of a muchness. It has been years that the same reptile has done its spiel.

since i don't watch television I haven't seen most of the commercials mentioned here but I do listen to 1150 am in L.A. everyday which can be heard free online at www.AirAmerica.com and I've heard some of the commercials mentioned here during thier commercial breaks and some are quite annoying to hear especially this new stupid one that is by a company called the Smell Good Plumbers

but SNIPES ....those i can live without. i fuckin hate 'em with a passion. AMC and TBS are the worst at these.
If you don't know what a SNIPE is, its those fuckin annoying animated ads that come on in the lower right or left corner of your TV screen and usually are advertsing for a TV show on that network. SNIPES defined
Here's a good example: last week we were watching "The Shining" on AMC. During one of the most climatic parts...where jack is about to confess his wishes to wendy, all of sudden a stupid fucking SNIPE of some saucy sexy hoe from the Show Madmen walks out in a skin tight corset and garters making my dick jump to immediate attention and desire.....now instead of listening to jack tell wendy he wants to take the bat and bash her brains out....i'm instead shouting out to the GF "i wanna fuck your brains out"...so anyway....ruinded the scary moment and i got a stiffy i couldnt do anything with cos guests would be arriving shortly. I FUCKIN HATE SNIPES! THEY GIVE YOU BLUE BALLS!
oh looking at maleonetwo's sig made me think of a snipe but in a good way....maleonetwo, you're snipe is giving me blue balls damnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I think he is cute. My favorite is the Pillsbury Doughboy. He is so damn cute.
^ the Pilsbury Doughboy doesn't annoy me but the mascot for the The General car insurance irks the hell out of me
