Malware and Trojan Horses

Just was looking at the Tila thread and following some of the links when up pops my Avira Anti-virus with an attack of a Trojan Horse. My system is fine, but hows yours doing? I repair PC's and see these things every day. Check out Download.com and get Malwarebytes and see if you've been hit.

I have ESET NOD32 installed on my PC and everything is running well since I installed it over a year ago. Any trojans/malware/viruses are immediately quarantined.

I use Spybot S&D, Spyware Blaster, and Malware Bytes

Overall Antivirus is Norton

For Internet in general I also use McAfee SiteAdvisor

Not to desparage the thread starter, but let's see. He wants to talk about trojans, and malware. Has 19 posts. Is called "TheGreatSatan". No offense, but I wouldn't click on anything you linked. Sorry... :2 cents:

Avast (gets better with every version IME); Spybot; Firewall (router)

(Malwarebytes is indeed very good - very thorough - at finding nasty viruses).

^^Wow!! You must know your stuff! Looking forward to your technical posts:thumbsup:

Any opinion on Avast, which is what I use. Thanks.

I used to use Avast mostly because I loved that it announced when it updated itself, but when I tried running it on an infected computer it couldn't remove the viruses. Avira always can

I actually know of this guy ^^

I am currently running Win 7 Ultimate (Tech Net) with NO protection other than the default MS stuff. I scan every few days with some online scanners just to see. So far, clean as a whistle.

Avast and Avira are both good, as is NOD32. AVG is a flaming pile of shit nowadays.
