No... it's not "
in the ass" as you so succintly put it, projejkt! LOL
The
prostate gland is an integral part of the male urinary and sexual reproductive system. Any research into basic human anatomy will show you exactly where it is located.
Here's a link with an illustration for all of y'all who may not be as informed as some of the rest of us:

Picking up on another member's reply to this thread regarding an experience with physicals and comparing them to what this thread was originally about...
Whenever a physician performs a physical rectal examination, he is checking the prostate gland for any lesions, bumps, nodes, etc., etc. with regards to any signs indicative of possible prostate gland problems (
i.e., early warning indicators of prostate cancer, etc.) Hence, this is why it's important for
all males over the age of 35 to start requesting their physicians to perform yearly prostate gland checkups.
Now, to further answer websurfer's post:
Stimulating the prostate gland for sexual purposes is a
lot different than a physician's checkup. However, at it its most basic level, it is essentially the same in that a
lubricated finger (key ingredient, right there... lots of lubricant...) is inserted into the rectum and the prostate gland is massaged and probed. Otherwise, the differences are so completely vast, that it's almost amusing to compare the two; one is done purely for pleasure and the other strictly for medical concerns and reasons.
Whomever you went to that performed this "extracurricular" service for you, websurfer, apparently had no clue how it is done. Even a rectal examination shouldn't hurt... much less for three days.
This is how it should have been performed:

...For internal stimulation, you must lubricate, lubricate, lubricate. Either use a latex glove or a finger cot. Apply a thicker, anal lubricant, like Doc Johnson's Anal Lube, to your finger and slowly and carefully insert it into his rectum. Use a steady, gentle movement to push your finger into the rectum. Begin moving your finger in and out; this helps to relax the surrounding area. Once you’re both comfortable and your finger is fully inside, slowly and carefully curl your finger. Curling your finger allows you to massage his prostate. Continue this gentle massaging. Now, some men can orgasm from this alone and others need some other form of stimulation as well. If this is your first time, communicate, communicate, communicate. Find out where’s he’s at and what he wants you to do.For external stimulation, take your index finger and apply pressure on the area between his scrotum and anus. By putting pressure and massaging that area you are still massaging the prostate, but you don’t have to worry about any issues involving anal play!
As I said previously... to each his own.
What one person finds intriguing and interesting, another person on down the line may find it to be disturbing and upsetting. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes about a myriad of things. And in the end, that's what makes this big ol' earth go 'round and 'round.
