Question: who the hell cares whether cats are happy or not? Cats are intended for two things: 1) to be tormented unmercifully by blue jays or mockingbirds, and 2) to serve as moving targets for hoses, Super Soakers, and the like.

I've never had the opportunity, but I'd be interested to see what happened if a cat encountered a rather irritable small snapping turtle in its water dish...

I believe so.

A feather on a string keeps my cat entertained for hours. Or until I get bored and give up. Of which the latter is a far more common occurrence.
