The American F-15E Strike eagle supposedly crashed because of mechanical failure, how many people believe it was ACTUALLY Shot Down ?

I don't think they shot it down... but who knows for sure except the pilots? :dunno:

Shouldn't you have included a poll? It wouldn't surprise me if it was shot down, BY friendly fire. The plane sent to rescue the pilots already shot 6 Libyan villagers who were trying to help the pilots so it wouldn't surprise me.

If it was shot down, the military could then use the propaganda to escalate the war. In other words, I'd give more credibility to the theory that they would claim a plane that suffered mechanical failure got shot down, than the other way around.

Good Idea, I should have posted it as a poll.

Thanks

Look at how she is spread out, from the pics Ive seen looks like she came in a belly landing impact.

Im inclined to think she did have a failure, the pilots tried to save her but bailed after giving up.

If she were shot down, missile or guns would have made more of a mess and she'd probably came in nose first.

Indeed, the airframe is way, way too intact! When an airframe is not airworthy, you typically don't have it all come down in one piece like that.

Even when a proximity charge hits near the aircraft, it typically causes a failure of the airframe and it to break apart. Anyone who knows anything about the F-15 airframe will tell you that you don't even need both wings to stay airborne, you can lose part of one and your fuselage can still produce lift.

Although Daffy's forces do have the ability to shoot down aircraft, in this instance I believe there may have been a structural or mechanical failure. Best way to check if it was AAA or a missile is to look for shrapnel holes, blast damage etc on the vertical and horizontal stabilizers.
