Funny how the talk about Trump being silent this weekend is the new outrage. The Hill created this mess. It's up to them to get themselves out of it. And it's not like this is a new pattern from The House and Senate.

Trump is sympathetic to those that came here as kids. But there is also that chain migration that allows cousin her and uncle him to waltz across the boarder. Making some rules for them is okay by me as long as they are productive. Give them X number of time to be independent and not being criminals. That's not too much to ask.

Back to the subject. These elected representatives have to do what the rest of us have to do ...GET TO WORK AND DO YOUR FUCKING JOB!!! Stop bitching about what you can't do. Stop bitching about golf and travel. This is why I don't want to be President of the United States. Too much press following me into The White House basement bowling ally and kitchen. And God forbid I want to go to the track.

Oh goody. 51 people on a go fund me page. I'll put up all 800+ of my points if 4 of these people get elected. You set a limit on how much they take in per person or company.

Face the facts. Companies employ people. Is there a difference between 200 rank and file ponying up 20 bucks each or their employer donating $4G? I know what you are going to say. All the company has in their interests is making money. Well ...yea. That's how they keep their doors open and employ people. Greed from the company execs? Rank and file have greed in heir eyes also.

Garages and flea markets have started many companies. Collective pools of people and small money and ideas. You, Johan, want to put a limit on growth. Some magic algorithm where all is equal and happy. It don't work that way. There is a difference between those that sacrifice time and energy and risk to those that punch their cards and go home. Risk and reward is a 2 way street. Many, many fail and still take the risk again to build their growth. It is disingenuous to deny these people their success.

I want elected officials who really represent their voters, not their donors. And the only way to achieve that is to put mre regulations on corporate campaign financing.
Do you think you have a functioning democracy when candidates say one thing on a campaign meeting and the opposite during a fundraising ?

Johan, campaign financing reform is a 2 way street. Of course the representative should represent the voters ... and stay to their words. But you've got to get elected and that takes money. Being the only candidate standing on a train platform with a sandwich sign ain't going to do it. You've gotta reach the people and that ain't cheap.

Look at the people posting for their potential elective aspirations. Working class folks that have jobs and family. Good intents. Salt of the Earth. Step one is get on the ballot. Next is make through a primary. Next is are you running against an incumbent? Name recognition is everything at this time, not policy. Mail box drops, Signs and stickers printed. Trump won his voters with rallies. Do you know how much it costs to rent out a VFW hall much less a civic center? That costs money to get your word out.

Grass roots campaigns are not a way to even get into your statehouse. Why do the majority of politicians are lawyers? It's the same as in the horse racing industry. If you ain't got money, nobody wants to know you.

Well said, Bob.

I've always thought that way of Republicans and have grudgingly admired the Democrats’ political savvy and united front with most things. They circle the wagons and the knives come out. Republicans turn on each other or ... retire.

Yup. Republicans are date-raping America, whispering that this is what they really wanted all along, while democrats hide in the bushes and watch. The best thing the democrats could possibly do right now, and for the last year, is sit back and let the USA have what it chose. If they didn't keep muddying the waters they wouldn't cop so much of the blame.

Trump-1 Schumer-0[/QUOTE] Calling... want him to get involved and fuck it all up.

Calling this a trump victory is a bit of a stretch, even for someone with as loose a grip on reality as yourself. Dear leader stayed at home and kept his mouth shut, waiting for the crisis he created (yes, Mr "I'll sign any bill you bring me" refused 2 bipartisan bills after his handlers got to him and told him what to think) to blow over. Even republicans didn't want him to get involved and fuck it all up.

Really? So Trump sat at home and let The Hill work out their own shit. Those kids that were shuttled over the boarder are going to be safe to stay here. He promised this. The Hill has to go to work and present something on his desk in 3 weeks. He'll sign it. Why wouldn't he? What are you afraid of? A compressive program to secure these people's citizenship while securing our boarders?

How lenient is it to get citizenship into your country? How long do I have to live in a tent on one of your territories before your offices find my paperwork?

No worries about you being drafted against your will for the job.
You'd have much bigger hurdles to leap than mere sloth or self indulgence.
Are you somehow forgetting your website(s), including fistbobforfree.com?

If it wasn't for super-delegates and cheating DNC, Bernie Sanders and his grassroot campaign would have beaten Hillary. When he started his campaign, his tname recognition was quite low, particulary compared ot Hillary. When it ended, he was America's most popular politician
Even Trump's campaign was much more grass-root than many of his GOP opponents cndidates such as Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, etc.) and more than Hillary's campaign

Grass root campaign can actually work, as long as your supporters really think you're gonna change the country, change their lives, as long as they are really motivated to spread your message all around them, work their ass off to get you to the White House

Have you ever seen a courageous democrat who doesn't run when he is confronted to something ?

Yes I have but it's a small number. The Democratic party will continue to lose elections as long as they are led by weak kneed centrists and corporatists
