It wasn't just the other players. Some of the other owners didn't want Limbaugh as part of the NFL and pretty much said that they would not vote to allow him to be an owner. That pretty much put an end to him being able to get part ownership in a team. I also read that Roger Goodell wasn't exactly thrilled by the prospect of Rush coming on board either.

I have to wonder why a man who openly loathes black people would want to own a business that will largely have those same people as its employees. If you want to be very offensive then you have to paid the price. Here are some examples of his divisive and obnoxious statements.

Newsflash - President Obama IS a black guy. Oh my gosh, I must be a racist too because I mentioned race.

Hint: Just because rush TALKS about race, or about someone's race, that doesn't mean he is a racist. Only about two or three of the things you quoted could be considered "racist", and it would be nice to find out the context in which those things were said.

Furthermore, I've listened to Rush Limbaugh off and on for about 20 years, and I agree with about 99% of what he says. I am NOT a racist, and I don't believe Rush is either.

Again, just because someone talks about "black people" or "minorities" doesn't mean they are a racist - even if they disagree with some of the things that some or most of the people in these groups do.

"Racism" is when you hate people. Rush has never said anything to make me believe he hates any group of people.

Alex Spanos of the Chargers is one of the biggest conservative donors in sports & has donated MILLIONS to conservative politicians/causes.

This has to do with a man who has OPENLY spewed his insensitivities(to say the least) towards minorities(Immigrants & Blacks especially) who make up 70% of the NFL workforce.

The NFL wanted to prevent a Marge Schott 'lite' from occurring in the NFL & stepped up to to plate early. MLB had to finally strip Marge Schott of her duties & basically force her to sell her team(Reds) when they had enough of her insensitive nonsense about minorities: 'Japs', 'Sneaky Jews', Million dollar ******s', 'Fruits',etc..........

Thankfully the Commissioner,Union & Players , had the foresight not to get involved with Rush's nonsense.:thumbsup:

Rush during his short lived football analyst days on ESPN not only claimed the media was overrating McNabb due to his being black but also said a lot of the games seemed like battles between the bloods and crips.Nice to see that just cause your rich doesn't mean you can buy into anything ,it matters how you got it somewhat more now then it used to.Rush's radio shock crap has made him wealthy but also loathed and despised by most decent people and this is the price he pays which is a good thing.

Right here... when they were the L.A. Rams.

That was my team when I was a kid. But when Carroll Rosenbloom died and left the majority of the team to his wife, Georgia Rosenbloom (later Frontiere), the whole thing turned into a Days of Our Lives soap opera. She pushed Carroll's son out of the front office and started playing grab ass with the QB, Vince Ferragamo.

I know she's dead now. And I appreciate that they won the Super Bowl while she had control (luck?). But IMO, she was a rolling disaster, who only looked to line her own pockets. Replacing her with a gas bag, attention whore like Limbaugh wouldn't have made things any better. Just another nail in the Rams' coffin. But I don't care, as I barely follow football at all these days.

The last thing a succesful businessman wants is a nutjob like Rush kicking up noise every couple months. He's way more trouble than he is worth and there's plenty of other people who can pony up the minority investment Rush was putting up. At the end of the day, Rush fell victim to his own mouth.

Now Rush will use his bully pulpit to blame Obama for all this nonsense even though the only connection is that other black leaders opposed Limbaugh's involvement. You can't tell me that Rush is anything other than race-baiting trash.

My guess is, how Limbaugh is probably going to conduct himself in the aftermath of his group's decision will substantiate why they made the decision they made.

Getting dumped is the best thing to happen to him, cause it gives him another claim of victimization.... which is what he's all about. If you took Limbaugh and Rev. Al, dumped them in a box and spray painted both of them the same color... you would NOT be able to tell them apart. IMO, they're just oppostite sides of the same bad coin.

The NFL is a very image conscious organization and likes to display a good agreeable side to the public. Rush Limbaugh is an idiot with a microphone. One that can and will tell people on a daily basis what's on his mind. It's a disaster you can see coming a mile away. I can't blame the NFL. It's not because of Limbaugh's political affiliation. Futhermore, if the business partners of Limbaugh see him as a financial liability and negative publicity because people are (utilizing their right to free speech) complaining about him, isn't it thier right to not have to take his money or make a business decisions that they don't want to?

I don't see where anyone's free speech is being violated. Rush, Sharpton and the rest all get to keep saying what they want to, no one is stopping them.
