Let's sing a song to the Golden State Warriors

Na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, hey hey hey, goodbye because this series is over. Toronto Raptors win series 4-1 on Monday and Kawhi Leonard is your finals MVP. The Warriors have been dethroned and it's for good this time. KD leaving next season. Green and Cousins most likely Warriors won't re-sign them. It's an end of an era. I don't see them winning any more titles without KD. It's finally over. They can officially be named the Silver State Warriors come next season and for many many more seasons to come. I will be celebrating Monday night. Let's throw up some fireworks and have a feast!

Why all this hostility to Northern California NBA basketball?

And so I had a feeling. And now I know.

So you're a Lakers fan ... Not happening either.

You just keep dreaming.

Yes you guessed correctly. I am a Lakers fan. Been one my whole life. I think it's kinda cool with the whole Northern vs Southern Cali teams. Lakers/Clippers vs Kings/Warriors. I don't hate the Warriors I just dislike them. They have 5 All Star players and just because one is out (Durant) they can't beat the Raptors with 4 All Stars? That doesn't make any sense. I guess Leonard is just too much for them. For the record though I actually like the Kings. I always liked the Kings over Warriors. Anyway it will be sad to end the NBA this Monday. I guess there's baseball which I like to watch from time to time.

I can certainly understand. Baseball. I'm a San Francisco Giants fan.

Here's a perfect example. Let's say the Giants are on the East Coast playing the Braves in Atlanta. Dodgers are playing the Padres in San Diego. Giant fans will go into San Diego wearing the Orange and Black of the Giants. Now both Padre fans and Giant fans dislike the Dodgers. Giants historically. And with the passing of the great Angel and Padre announcer Dick Enberg in 2017, the Padres more so now. Almost forty years. Anyway, Giant fans are known to start it up in the stands. The Dodgers may be winning (usually they are) and Petco Park is quiet. Let's say the Padres start a rally. They are now down by two runs, with one out and two men on second and third. And two runs in already in the inning. Soon from out of the rafters comes "Beat LA, Beat LA, Beat LA." Those Giant fans start it - the rally call. Soon the whole section is doing it. Both Friar fans and those Giant fans. Then the whole Park. Happiness! ;) Dick Enberg would point it out to the viewers on TV of those Giant fans and soon victory was essential. The Padres would rally to win in comeback style over those dreaded Dodgers.

Just remember to BEAT LA!!! BEAT LA!!! BEAT LA!!! BEAT LA!!! BEAT LA!!! :)

Right? P_H ;)

The Warriors look like an average college team when Durant isn't out there. Yeah, they have some great players apart from him - but they don't play as a team without him. They can't make passes, catch passes, play defense, get back on breaks or even push the ball. It's like a totally different team this series. I think the Raptors are just too deep for them... unlike Portland and the Rockets.

I have huge respect for Kawhi now. I didn't know how good he is. I didn't know that much about him before this season. He's (sort of) like a mixture of Dr. J, Kobe and Bob McAdoo (to show my age). He is definitely the real deal. And I like how he plays team ball (are you paying attention Lebron and Harden???).

I'm glad the Warriors won last night just because I want the season to go on for at least another game. I can't say that I'm pulling hard for either one - I'd be OK wither way. But I think the Raptors have this one sewn up. I hope it happens in Golden State though, just so those booing asshole Toronto fans don't get to see their team win at home. You don't boo when someone gets hurt. Nah - that shows that you've got NO class.

My dad was rooting for the Warriors and he kept saying if Durant was there, if Thompson didn't get injured in the 3rd quarter...I mean, come on. The Warriors are loaded with all stars and talent and just because a couple players got injured they can't stop one all star in Kawhi Leonard? The Raptors deserved the title and people keep saying they only won because the Warriors had injuries blah blah blah. Same thing happened to the Cavs when Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love were injured and LeBron James was by himself. Warriors beat the Cavs but you didn't hear any whining and complaining about their injuries. Durant and Thompson should be out most, if not, all of next season so that's it for them. No more titles. Ohhhhh Caaaanaaadaaaa!!!

I think the Raptors were the better team this season - and they definitely played team ball, which the Warriors did not. But yeah, when Durant and Thompson went out, that was definitely the kiss of death. The Warriors' bench isn't nearly as deep as it used to be. They'd need four or five good players to even begin to take up the slack from losing those superstars and they just don't have it anymore. Throw in a hobbled Cousins (who's overrated anyway, IMO) and a busted up Looney and they would have put me in the game if I'd been there. :D If both Durant and Thompson could have played, at the very least we'd be looking at a Game 7, IMO. But Kawhi and the Raptors deserve the championship this year. I never thought much of Kyle Lowry (always choked in big games before) and I had no idea that VanVleet had that kind of 3-point shot. Then you throw in Siakim and Serge Ibaka and even Gasol being pretty solid... that team was just hitting on all cylinders. They were aggressive on offense and they played hella defense. They deserve the trophy.

LOL at Kawhi Leonard saying "So long suckers!!" to Canada literally weeks after winning the championship.

I'm sure Toronto has a lot of respect for Kawhi since he did bring the city their first ever championship and possibly the last one. I'm sure they understand that he wants to finally come home to California. Most likely he will get cheered when they play in Toronto again in the regular season. I wouldn't be surprised if they even made a tribute video to thank him for everything he's done.

ha ha yeah back in the day LA would mostly scoff at that rather pathetic little uprising. But going 31 years without a World Series title tends to be humbling, or at least it should be.
Particularly when the hated ones are earning three rings.
