GOP hypocrisy on display : Whjen a democrats government passes a bill they don't like, they claim the issue should be let to the states.
When there's a GOP government, they can't wait to bring back to the federal level issues that have been dealt with by the states, resulting in state legislation that doesn't match with the GOP's agenda.


When conservatives do not control the government, they would like it to be as little as possible.
When they control it, they would like it to be as big as possible.

To quote Thomas Jefferson: "A government big enough to give everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have." and "Most bad government has grown out of too much government." Unless you appreciate the socialist/communist system where the state dictates you everything and I am for the least government as possible.

The truth is Trump hired Sessions thinking he would defend him (yeah, he thinks the AG is some kind of presidential lawyer) he did not liked Session to recuse himself from the russia thing and now that things are looking really bad for him, he's gonna fire Sessions and hire a new AG who would accept to take defending Trump as his top priority.

The President of the United States is the chief law enforcement officer in the country per the United States constitution.

He can pardon any crime. He can investigate any crime. He can shut down or open any investigation that he choses.

The plenary power granted to the president to pardon gives him jurisdiction over anyone in the executive branch. That includes ,intelligence, military, or law enforcement personnel.

Not that I favor dismissing Sessions, but if he wants to appoint 10 different Attorneys General in the next year until he finds a boot licking yes man willing to prosecute anyone he chooses or will defend him to the death, it is within his power to do do.

It is also within the legislative branch's power to use the provision of impeachment and removal if they think they can do it and he has abused his power.

that's a good point. The duty of the AG is not to have the President's back unless of course it's a democrat administration.

President Trump is short on allies within the cogs. Sessions made a mistake but he supports Trump's agenda even more so than some of Trump's own family members.
If President Trump fires Sessions, he fires his greatest single ally along with alienating Sessions' supporters within the Administration. Trump compounds a mistake with an even greater one. He thinks the leaks are bad now. And who the hell would want to be the AG going forward? Giuliani has reportedly already said FTS.
