left 4 dead

i kinda prefer the keyboard and mouse setup but im hooked on the achievements of the 360. gata love that!

I have played through 4 of the 5 scenerios so far on the PC using a virtual lan and it is so fun. It is amazing how many can come at you at once, and the fact that the enemies never attack in the same way makes the game seem new every time.
I just found out that you can import some sound files into the game and make the zombies say anything you want so I will never stop having fun with this game :).
Here is an example lol:

Spleen

Banned?
Awesome that the new survival pack is FREE on Xbox, I thought they'd charge. Survival mode is pretty fun, but it's mainly being able to play dead air and death toll on Versus that's won me over.

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
Dunno why but I never got into this game. I played it, and beat all the scenarios. But it never really caught my interest. :dunno:

If you have x-box live then definitely get it. The game is basically like 28 Days Later the video game. Hordes upon hordes of zombies can surround you in seconds not to mention that in multiplayer you can play as the "special" zombies like Hunters (very agile and can jump really far), Smokers (really long tongues that can grab people from afar), Boomers (puke on people that attract a shit-ton of zombies and my fave, but you gotta learn to use him correctly, has extremely low defense) and Tanker (incredibly powerful, as in being able to punch people a distance of 50 feet and can throw cars). As you can tell, I like the game and am praying for a sequel just don't expect much from the graphics

This game is a lot of fun and puts a bunch emphasis on teamwork....I remember one time on the one you have to get to the train to get to the next part I think its the same one with the boat....but anyway we had it on highest difficulty and something happened and we got split two and two.....right at the house with the lawnmower that has a shit ton of blood around it....and me and my friend ran into the house and closed the door and ran up the stiars (we were headed towards the end). All of a sudden a smoker pulled him out of the window and made him fall to his death..I ran out and killed the smoker and was running straight for the train when all of a sudden a tank came running from the train safehouse....after some dodgy moves I was able to get around and start my run to the train...turning around to judge how close he was I basically tripped over a witch i didn't see ....so long story short I was the reason we failed...cause I tried to solo it.

I love Valve, they always seem to know how to make quality games, and Left 4 Dead is a great example.

This is very true about the game, and another reason why I love it. You are f'd if you try to do your own thing, especially in Versus mode. If you go too far ahead or fall too far behind you will die; it's pretty much guaranteed. Speaking of the tanker, I remember one time my team and I were cornered in one of the rooms in the farmhouse and a tanker ran upstairs and started beating one of my mates and I started shooting him with the assault rifle, too bad I was standing right in front of a window because he charged towards me and as soon as I knew it I was punched all the way out into the cornfield and I was just like "holy shit!" and ran back just laughing to myself that it actually happened

My favorite parts are the finales. Those things are just so badass, I love it.

When I get a new copy of L4D the first thing I'm going to do is download that free update on my 360.

After having to play (and replay multiple times) Bioshock with everything turned down to medium, I realized my computer just couldn't handle newer games. I decided to get a 360 because L4D looked incredible, and there were a handful of other things I wanted to play.

I've never gotten too into multiplayer FPS action, but L4D is the most fun I've had multiplayer since the Beach level of Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

I've mostly been doing versus mode, but have started to get into co-op campaigns on harder difficulties. I beat my first expert campaign tonight, and it was such a great experience. Having all four teammates run (or, usually, hobble) into the safe room feels infinitely more rewarding that just beating levels alone.

Anyone looking for someone with a mic to play versus (usually on later at night), or looking for a campaign member, feel free to add me, gamertag: ricky caldwell.

Funny thing about the Source engine is that it actually has very low hardware requirements. I play L4D at full detail on my P4 3GHz + GF8600GT rig, which is no high end these days, and the FPS never drops below 40.

Actually, Crysis on high settings didn't drop below 20 FPS on my PC while everone else whined it was unplayable on low, so it may just be that my hardware has some superpowers I don't know of.

Oh, and L4D is so great with the zombie movie cliches. :) I'm a huge fan of Romero's zombie flicks and the 28 series, and I felt at home with the exploding headshots and stuff.

Forty pounds for a game that lasted less than four hours [online or offline]. Then they go and tell us we're getting a sequel less than a year or so down the line. These newer movies [campaigns] in the sequel should have been added to the first game to begin with. Something like eight or ten mini movies on one game. Not just four.

There's quite a bit of controversy over it too.

And rightly so, my friend. I just hope that this new game has a minimum of six mini movies [campaign stories]. If there's more then great. If there is less than six. I wont buy it untill it is cheap and in the second hand section.
