LeBron James is the best basketball player in the world...

Normally I would put Kobe ahead of Wade too, but I was very disappointed in his play last year. Based on last year, especially when they played head-to-head, I find it very heard to put Kobe ahead of Wade. Kobe just isn't the same player he was a couple years ago.

Yeah, I agree too. How the hell is Blake ahead of Amare Stoudemire?

Boomer Sooner, God bless his soul... but damn!?

He's ahead of Melo and Amare. Insane. Rose has been improving every year, just won an MVP and barely snuck into the top 10.

Stop the hate...1 on 1, LeBron would wax everybody on that list. :goodpost:

Lebron is the best "current" player for sure. I like how you put my man Dwight up there too! You still have to respect Kobe though, even though I hate him. Jumpman is still #1.

I think Kobe, Durant, Melo and Wade could all beat Lebron 1 on 1.

No

They are not nearly as strong and as big as LeBron.
The ONLY guy who could MAYBE roll w/ Bron is Durant......MAYBE!

Strength isn't as big an advantage if you can't post up. Plus, you know Lebron is going to drive. Those other guys I mentioned will be scoring from every spot on the floor.

Realistically, Howard could just back everybody down and would beat everybody on the planet.

I have as many NBA title rings as LeBron James. He is not the best.
The best - and I hate to even type it - is that punk in L.A.

ESPN's ratings with just about anything and how they come up with them aren't usually worth the electrons they are sent over the Internet on. :2 cents:

Well, since the list consists of active players, His Airness is not eligible.

Way to look at the article, Scooter. Find a toilet, insert your face.

Okay active players.. If not Dirk Nowitzki out of the Mavericks or Kobe Bryant out of the Lakers, then for myself,... I'd go with Vince Carter. I believe he plays for the Phoenix Suns.

Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony can't play the other end... DEFENSE. So they are out.

Was that Vince Carter thing a joke?

Seems to me... well, seems to me that the NBA is an individualistic game, with games often decided in the final minutes in the playoffs, with individual players put in a position to directly affect the outcome through individual actions...
And it seems to me that 4 of the 5 best basketball players in the world have never won the championship in the NBA, which leads me to believe that the NBA is scoring the games wrong, and should find a different measuring stick than "final score" in awarding it's championships.
