Kurt Warner Released From Rams

I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts about the fact that Kurt Warner will be released from the St Louis Rams effective June 1st. I'm not sure how I feel about it. They never gave him a chance to prove himself after he finally recovered from his hand injuries, I wonder if he is glad he won't be with STL anymore. This would never happen, but if I had my way, he would play for the Oakland Raiders since they are my other favorite NFL team besides the Rams. Yeah, I know the Raiders are old and everything, but I love the reputation that they have for "bending" the rules a little, LOL! I just wish that STL would have given him more chances to prove himself instead of just letting him go like that. I guess the Rams didn't want him that much, even though he's not supposed to be officially released until June, they already gave him permission to shop for other teams to play for, I thought that just added salt to the wound, but that's just my opinion.

Dean:nanner: :hatsoff:

He would be a good fit in Dallas, Miami, Steelers, and San Fran.

The Steelers are by far the best fit. Pretty good OL to protect him and fast WR's that can give open late.

Martz doesnt know what the hell he wants.....he handled the situation like a conceited dick and basically treated warner like he was that monkey from "outbreak" AFTER warner led them to superbowls and won two mvps. Fuck it .....let warner go help another team and watch bulger go down hurt and see just how far chris chandler(!!!!!) leads this team
......ahemmmm..go baltimore
(i'm not even sure kyle bollers even close to ready...when you lose your starting job to anthony wright (again !!!!!!!!!) at the end of last season ........maybe warner would look nice until we can bring boller along.....i guess its just wishful thinking

Brock lesner is trying out for the NFL , pretty neat i guess

I don't get it either. You don't just dump a two-time MVP like that. (The June 1st release date is a salary-cap thing, by the way; the cap hit for releasing him goes down after June 1st. It's a common thing for teams to do.)

I'm sure he'll find a team that'll give him a starting job, but I'm not sure who. The Broncos were looking at him last year (when it looked like the Rams might release him) but they're all set with Plummer now. (And as a Broncos fan, I couldn't be happier.)

Warner's not all that mobile, so he needs a solid O-line to give him time to find the open man and throw. I think Famousbabes is on the right track with his list of possible teams. The Raiders might be a good place for him if their line gets its act back together after collapsing last year. Of course, they've still got Gannon on the roster, so who knows what they're smoking.

Let's face the facts here..... Warner is a huge huge i repeat huge cap hit. Nine million....Thats way to much money to pay a washed up back up QB.

No one is reporting anything about interest in Kurt. If he went somewhere he wouldn't be a starter. I mean the guy hasn't won a game since 2002. That's eight straight losses people. His ego is hurting, it has to be.

The only teams i can see him going too, are SF to backup Tim Rattay or Miami, which is a stretch. Other than that he isn't worth the investment.

Dallas has Carter who might be done by week six if Drew Henson some how comes on.

The Steelers have a backup Qb as it is right now. Maddox is just waiting till this saturday to see who will take his job sometime this year. Rivers is my guess.....although i hope not.

I'm in Owings Mills MD, a golf swing away from the Ravens training camp. Let me tell you first hand. Boller is the man and is going to be just fine. If we wouldn't have got the dick from the league on the TO deal. Everyone would have the Ravens right behind the Pats as the favorite in the AFC. Fuck it, they still might be, even with out that ****** fucker....We play in the weakest division in the league. The AFC north, a complete mess. We should win the division no problem.

I will say that the Bengels getting rid of Dillion and stacking up picks is very scary. I mean they have five picks this saturday in the top 117 players. That's nuts. Even more scary is the Pats. Two first rounders, one second, two thirds, fourth, fifth, and six round.....Damn thats a lot of talent to work with....

Ok I come here to talk porn, not sports. I'll stop now.....sorry for the rant......i just love this time of the year.

Don't get me started on my Chargers and Bucs......

Warner is washed up. I mean, didnt he have a couple of concussions already? Concussions are an elderly QB's worst enemy. Steve Young, Troy Aikman, all retired in their mid-30s because of concussions. 49ers have Rattay. :)

Okay, that's two people now who think the 49ers would pass up a shot at Kurt Warner to stick with... Tim Rattay.

Have I fallen into some weird parallel universe or something?

Well, as perhaps the only Rams fan on this board, it is somewhat surprising to see that this got some attention. As a fan, i have mixed feelings about the whole situation. Personally, i think Martz sucks as a coach. He makes bad decisions, as seen in the playoff game against the Panthers when he wouldn't go for the touchdown while deep in Panthers territory. Not only that, he wastes too many timeouts too quickly and sometimes when ahead by not too much, goes 3 and out too quickly, leaving the other team quite a bit of time to score. I wish he was gone, and if the rams don't do well this season, the owner better step up and make a move.

As for Warner, well, like i said, I have mixed feelings. He did take the rams to the superbowl twice and actually won once. So, forever i will have the utmost respect for the guy. However, after the rams loss to the patriots in their last superbowl appearance, Warner never looked the same as he did in his first year. He looked nervous in the pocket, threw too many interceptions, and never seemed to settle back into his old self after the finger injury. Marc Bulger, earned the job by winning so many games. Sure, he wasn't always the most dependable quarterback either, but he did win games, and winning games was something that was becoming rare for Warner. Well, whatever happens, i just hope the rams do well this season. Here's a link i found on the official rams website today. Keep on rockin and rollin!!

I'm here to enquire about your spooons...
This may not make you feel better, but it might be better for Kurt. Change of scenery to revitalize his career. No matter who picks him up, he's got to stay healthy.

Ok in St. Louis he had Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce, Marshall Faulk, and Orlando Pace and that one white guy with long hair. Uhh... right now the 49ers have uhh... umm.... Barlow?

If Kurt Warner sucked with the St. Louis offense, hes going to suck everywhere else.

Was he sucking when he led the Rams to two Super Bowls and got two league MVP awards? Sure, he's had a bad run of injuries over the last two years, but no way in hell is a guy with those credentials not going to get interest from teams looking for a starter.

Tim Rattay, meanwhile, has a total of three starts in his four-year career. The 49ers would be fools to not at least consider bringing Warner in. (Then again, they dumped Mariucci last year, so maybe they are fools.)
