Kobe now ties MJ in 60 point games

Is kobe better?
Kobe took a bit longer to mature, when compared to MJ, but Kobe having to share the court and fanfare with an already established Shaq probably had something to do with that.

As for who's better ?

Toss up :dunno:

Kobe Rocks! what a game versus knicks!

Don't ever mention players you have never seen play like Jordan, Pippen, Barkley or jesus Kareem! Oscar Robertson! WILT!!! You are obviously like 12 years old and shouldn't be on this board until your 18. If this is your list of best players of all time then you need to never watch the NBA again. Bill Russell?? Jerry West?? Karl Malone??? Durant, McGrady, Iverson, Paul and Lebron don't belong anywhere near this list. At the end of their careers maybe Lebron, Paul and Durant but come on now. Lebron will need some serious hardware to be considered one of the best all time. You don't even have Larry Bird for God's sake. At least you didn't have Derrick Rose or OJ Mayo on your list. So if you want to mention your favorite players than fine but don't ever just list some legends that you found on Wikipedia with the likes of Tracy McGrady. And BTW Jordan>Kobe and I never liked Jordan and love Kobe.

Kobe was amazing last night. He brought just about his entire arsenal; every move, every shot, from every angle. Nobody can logically argue his skill set isn't on par with Jordan's.

However, Kobe's last 2 championship series appearances have been substandard. He owns 3 less rings than Michael, and his leadership qualities haven't, as yet, matched Jordan's. So for now MJ gets the nod.

I'm in agree with you,in Playoffs Kobe sometimes disappear...and MJ in his finals always was on the top.

6 rings to 3 rings...both these guys can score at will, kobe is the better shooter...we only see kobe what he's doing now...it's hard to get the image of kobe doing what he does now and not seeing mj during his prime...we forget mj the year after he came back from retirement to the bulls, they only won 72 games...his first full season the year after...of course it has to do with the players around him but without jordan, the bulls did make the playoffs but did they win a playoff series? no...with jordan, they almost became the first team to win back to back 70 games...we can compare the two...and who has the better game...all in all we should all just be blessed to see such talented guys go out there and put up monster numbers at will

Actually Bulls made it to the 2nd round without Jordan. While I think Jordan is overrated and Kobe underrated due to his attitude and his past, I would put these two on par with each other. Neither can win without a good supporting cast around him, and both have killer instincts and demand the ball in the crunch time. Kobe do have tendercy to disappear in the playoffs and his scoring can be wildly inconsistent at times. Other than that there's no question that he is one of the greatest of all times and should be mentioned in the same sentence as Jordan.

until he wins 3 more rings...no...and plus...what weird thing about this game...he didnt have a REBOUND...none...played 40+ mins...and had no rebounds...or a rebound...61 points and 20-20 from the line...it's just weird

That is strange i noticed that too and whats hurts is we lost Byumn again this happened last year about this time and he missed all the playoffs this is the last things the Lakers need and I hope the rest of the big men pick up the slack I'm sure they can led by Gasol they will still make the finals.

i will admit Steve Nash is good but kobe is one of the greatest plus now he has to make more baskets because Andrew Bynum won't be there for a while

I am hearing a trade. Marc Gasol from Memphis, for Chris Mihm's expiring contract and 2009 first round pick.

Did you really hear that or are you just speculating. I live in LA and the Lakers are everything to me so that would be awesome

Yooouu don't know what your talking about. His average is way down this year.

And he didn't have any rebounds because his front court was grabbing them all.

Now I love Kobe. I'd probably let him fuck me in Denver, but until he gets a couple more rings, he's only the 2nd best shooting guard of all time.

His average might be down, but who leads the Lakers in scoring this season? No Kobe=minimal wins for the Lakers.

I don't want to say hes necessarly better, The NBA was definatly more talented. when MJ was around. As the years go on. You will have rising stars as well. Michael had a good team, Kobe can win if they recuirt the right players. It just depends on how hes feeling. Anything is possible. Just, the players now a days are not as crafted.

Kobe who? :dunno: I stopped watching pro basketball in the 90s, when it stopped being good.

SHAQ!?!?!?! LMAO!!!!! He's probably not even in the top 50 much less 3. He can't even shoot a free throw! If they made dunks worth 1 point instead of 2 his career would be over. Also, your list is flawed...ever hear of a guy named Larry Bird?

Anyway, MJs still the best...nuff said.

shaq in his prime, no one could guard him, too much power

But Shaq in the top 3?!?! We're talking about the overall best player, not the best dunker. Everybody in the NBA can dunk a ball but Shaq can't even shoot free throws much less 3-pointers, so he's not even in the same league with an MJ or Kobe. They even invented the Hack-a-Shaq strategy...for great players like MJ there is no strategy, they just try to last the game.
