BTW,I think the Kinect will suck, just like the Wii.And just for the record,I have a PS3 and I think the Move will suck too.

Gaming is about being a lazy ass,not getting a workout.

I think the Kinect has potential but let's be honest, this is Microsoft and Sony cashing in on the Wii's success. (back in '06 both companies said they weren't even looking into motion control because it was just a fad). Another thing that kinda sucks about motion control is that it really limits you to pretty simple games. I like my Wii but it's not a good thing when the only game I play after 3 years of owning it is Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. I'll take my regular controllers any day, thank you

I agree. Im not looking forward to any of this motion crap.

I honestly think that's sort of irrelevant. I'm looking at Kinect more as a means to control the X-Box itself, not necessarily play games. I could easily see navigation being easier, (voice recognition), or making it easier to keep playing if your battery pack dies, or something of that nature. It's a pretty harsh overreaction to think that because you have to "move", (and I use that term loosely in this case) gamers are going to be too lazy for it.

Have you seen the games they have slated to be released for it at launch? A sports game that's the exact same as Wii Sports, 3 dance games, 3 fitness games, a driving game, and a game where you pretend to pet wild animals. That's about it.

I couldn't be less interested. At least not until they come out with some decent action games. I wanna' have to dive behind the couch to avoid gunfire!!!

Except I don't want to be lying in bed watching a season of Simpsons and yelling "Next episode!" In those situations, I'd rather have a remote

Well, what if you could just wave your hand from left to right to do it?

voice recognition is nothing new,you can do it with any speaker, even with the headphone Microsoft currently gives.

it only need software

It's nothing new to the computer world no, but the gaming world, it's brand new. Kinect is just trying to provide utilities to gamers on a broad scale, instead of the limited scale that exists in the PC and cell phone world.

I'm afraid that I'll have to sit there like a frozen corpse and not move 'cause if I do something will happen. It'll pause or fast forward or some shit.

I'm sure we'd all have that reaction until we see it work.

its nothing new on Gaming either

voice recognition can also be done using your 360 headset, its just that there isn't enough software as people don't think its worth it

it has always been possible

if you play Tom Clancy's Endwar, there is voice recognition

End War is a good exmaple of how good voice recognition can actually be on a console. It understood everyword I said, accent included.

Overall problem, it was a shit game and I felt like a right cunt as my parents walked past my room hearing me talking to myself shouting -

"Unit two attack enemy three" (Or however it went!)

That's purely developer driven, and was really just shitty software that was an afterthought. This is a first party instrument that'll have hardware accelerated voice recognition. There's nothing remotely close to it right now. Plus you factor in that it's supposed to track your lips (while we obviously don't know how that'll end up), and you're looking at something completely unprecedented in the gaming world.
