Maybe, but it seems odd. Normally you'd want the hours you've invested in work to start generating income as soon as possible. If cash flow was down, or if you needed to purchase some expensive new equipment, you'd need to put more time into whichever product generates the most "new" income.
Your phrase "all his girls" brings up another unique issue Phad surely has to deal with. I'm going to assume the girls are being paid a fee for their modeling time, then get a share of the profits their site brings. That would provide them incentive to stay in shape, keep doing their best work, and motivate them out of their comfort zones to do things they might otherwise hesitate to do.
So practically speaking, Phad's got (at least) 3 "wives" who constantly want his attention--that is, his attention on
her project to get
her product out first because
that's her income!
Now... where does Kari fit into that mix? She's like the absentee mistress who has no voice in "family" matters. Phad is her (product's) only advocate, but he's also the peacemaker among the rest of the girls. IF that's an accurate assessment, unless Kari's product is generating way more income, or generating income that Phad can convince the "wives" is being plowed back into resources that contribute to
their bottom line... then Kari's work would always tend to be last in the work schedule. Or worse, be relegated to Phad's "free time." I'm guessing it's tough to tell Bailey Knox that her project has to wait another week to start earning money
for her so that Phad can work on re-releasing an old Kari set.
Know anybody with 3 wives who has free time, and doesn't have to be careful what he says? Now maybe all Phad's girls are unselfish angels--let's hope so!
Now I'm certainly not saying Phad is going to drop Karisweets, nor am I absolving him of some standard of business ethics. I'm just like looking over the horizen and predicting the weather. Is it fair that Kansas gets so many tornados? No, but conditions are what they are.
So we Kari fans need to spend our money based on current realities,
regardless of fairness. And who knows, maybe Kari's generating huge income as it is. We forget how many young guys have come of age since Kari was active. How many teenagers have discovered for the first time and are thrilled to own all the old original sets before they go Ultimate? Felix's
karisweets got most of its memberships from outside the U.S., so who knows if Chinese businessmen and Arab exporters are Kari's biggest (spending) fans? Maybe the only Kari fans
without massively disposable income are us miserable miscreants at freeones!
As always, the best thing we can do is spend our money when it's worth it to us. If Phad sees that's not working for
his bottom line, he's a smart guy. He'll figure out a way to produce more (or more
frequent) satisfied customers.
