Justice Antonin Scalia has died

Obama's short list is down to 3:Sri Srinivasan, Merrick Garland and Paul Watford.

He may as well nominate Larry, Daryl and Daryl. They will have as much of a Chance at being seated.

Why do you say this? Didn't us conservatives argue against obstrcturism when the Dems had Congress? Who is allowed to played those cards?

A party has the right to obstruct. The other party has the right to complain. If you are on the losing end of obstruction, take it up with the electorate. Rinse, repeat.

Don't worry. Come next time whe a con pres has to deal with a situation like this, HE will birch and moan, and you and I will chuckle.

Karma is your friend.

Of course, as things go, it doesnot look as if ablocking house or senate will be any problem in short time. The landsliode is coming. Let the ultracons have their last stand.

Bob says he is a conservative, so why would he be sharing a laugh with you? Any conservative that is not willing to obstruct an anti 2nd Amendment president's SCOTUS nomination considering what is at stake probably should reevaluate their conservatism.

I doubt Bob and Scalia would have agreed on much of anything. Democrats are claiming they will defeat Donald Trump handily in November. If that is the case, then they should have no qualms with waiting until after November.

No, no, no. The Dems were accused of obstrcturism when they had congress. Run down the list of that shit.

8 months to hold hearings? Hey, make a fucking decision. Up or own. Do you remember the constitution? I know that you are an attorney, true Trump supporter. Don't shift.

Following the Constitution they are. Separate but equal branches of government allows for the president to nominate and they have the right to ignore. You can sleep well that the Constitution will live to see another day.

Cruz supporter, get it right.

Ani the clip of Biden is taken out of context. He actually does say in the full version of his comments that they should allow a vote. Durbin, Reid and Schumer however have not followed his lead.

Took the words right out my mouth. You're correct, that clip is taken out of context. Really shitty job by the media to not point this out. Biden went on to say, "I believe that so long as the public continues to split its confidence between the branches, compromise is the responsible course both for the White House and for the Senate," he said. "Therefore I stand by my position, Mr. President, if the President [George H.W. Bush] consults and cooperates with the Senate or moderates his selections absent consultation, then his nominees may enjoy my support as did Justices Kennedy and Souter."

If I could I'd rep you for that post :)

Although I disagreed vehemently with the way he interpreted our laws, I did admire his brutal candor in a grudging sort of way. May he rest in peace and may Obama get his replacement appointed without any unnecessary delays.

You know I just read this. He is saying he disagreed with strict interpretation of the constitution, the way the framers intended it to be.

The constitution drove Scalia, not the other way around.

Who in the hell would disagree with his interpretation? Oh that's right, a liberal would.

To me Jag can feel as he wishes.
But I don't see the rush in replacing him by Obama.
Also the fact that Obama didn't appoint someone and left it up to the next PREZ re-enforces my belief that the election is rigged.
Why would he take a chance on allowing Trump to make the appointment?
I think HC told him " Listen you long legged Mac Daddy, I'm putting Loretta Lynch in there". "That was the deal we made when she dismissed the biggest drug money laundering case in history that would have exposed HSBC Bank, James Comey, and the Clinton Foundation for the narcotrafficantes we are"
Plus all Lynch did to protect HC from the email treason which saved her candidacy.
Yep HC owes Lynch big time.
Dont know what I'm talking about? Look up HSBC money laundering. It's all there.
See the thing about these people, Obama, Clintons, Bushes, ect.....is that they all have serious dirt on each other.
Stuff that can ruin all of them. Put them in jail. So they take care of each other because if one goes down, they all go down.

Interseting Podesta email from 2 days before Scalias death. A sudden death that didn't warrant an autopsy.

I am all in Sounds like it will be a bad nite , we all need to buckle up and double down From: John Podesta [mailto:john.podesta@gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, February 09, 2016 4:36 PM To: Steve Elmendorf <elmendorf@teamsubjectmatter.com> Subject: Thanks Didn't think wet works meant pool parties at the Vineyard.
https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/6008

Wetworks means only one thing: Political Assassination.
It has no other definition.
And there was a vineyard and a pool on the property where Scalia died.

Both sides of the political spectrum are corrupt.

Scalia was murdered by assholes who didn't like his politics.

http://stateofthenation2012.com/?p=31529

These days, the mafia, the government, corporations and other self interest criminal asshole organizations are more careful how they kill people.
They use deadly viruses, bacteria, or toxic chemicals, some leave no traces.
When was the last time you saw a murder investigation of someone dying of deadly viruses, bacteria, or toxic chemicals.

Also the fact that Obama didn't appoint someone and left it up to the next PREZ re-enforces my belief that the election is rigged.

I think HC told him " Listen you long legged Mac Daddy, I'm putting Loretta Lynch in there".

This is a good example of where you lose credibility. You often contend that you study things deeply and have this great insight that we mere mortals don't possess, but clearly you're not even aware 1) that the president doesn't directly appoint supreme court justices and 2) that Obama DID nominate a very well respected justice to take Scalia's place, but that the Republican senate has completely stonewalled the man's appointment for months now, and that this has been a MAJOR news story for all of those months.

And with that all of your associated conspiratorial meandering just comes completely unglued.

And there was a vineyard and a pool on the property where Scalia died.

Gosh. Imagine that. A lavish resort with a pool and a vineyard. There are only about two dozen of those in Napa California alone. And a quick google search indicates Texas offers at least a few.
(by the way, all indications are that email was actually referring to plans to discredit Bernie Sanders for being a regular attendee at lavish fundraisers on Martha's Vineyard. note for instance that the email capitalizes the word Vineyard. i realize that's a very boring scenario - we all really want to believe that rather than dying of coronary artery disease and/or diabetes at age 79 like so many of us do that the evil DNC murdered him. but I think we have to at least leave the door open a crack that he just might possibly have died because he was old and sick)

I've never remember a scj dying so I dont know the rules . He died in August. Shouldnt that have replaced him by now?
What are they waiting for?
How bout this, if they crown HC and she appoints Lynch........nah.

The foul play thing. I'm saying the HC peeps using the term wetworks in a very vague email 2 days before is suspicious.
Very suspicious.
Very Very suspicious.
VeryX10 suspicious.

Holding up the nomination will turn out to be a great tactic if Trump wins. When Trump loses and Democrats take back the senate it's going to look as foolish as it always was, Clinton won't nominate the same feller, with a Democratic majority the next Supreme Court justice will be an uber-lib.

You're making it more complex than it is.
He probably pissed off some people with the money, power and the means to wack him, using some untraceable toxic chemical that causes a heart attack.
Countless people over centuries/millennia have been "retired" like this, using toxic chemicals, viruses or bacteria.
That's why the most efficient murderers are doctors, they can kill anyone without leaving any trace/evidence of their crime.
