My brother is black and adopted. He's four years younger then I am. Once, when he was about 11 or 12, he and I were walking through a fair when another black guy randomly walked up to him and started asking him all these questions and such, One being, "why you hangin' with this guy?" It wasn't until my brother told him that I was his sibling that the guy started talking to me. He shook my hand, and walked away, shaking his head. My brother asked me what just happened and I explained to him how racism can work both ways and that it isn't just something that whites do.

My brother has since become someone who is very outspoken about ignorance from anyone

It's never the color, it's the person. You're girlfriend would be defined as "colored", since colored is everything except white. Sure "Black" and "asian" together is supremely hot, but if there is issues with her family, remember, you aren't dating them.

Funny you mention that - people look at me and call me a "white man": I have Lakota and Tartar-Turko-Slavic blood in me (besides the Irish, German and who knows what else?!)

If that wasn't funny enough - they look at my wife and call her "white woman": she is at least a quarter Persian/Afghani.

My kids have a ridiculous amount of mixed blood in them - my daughter is a reddish-blonde mix with green-blue eyes. My son has dirty blond hair with pale grey eyes.

Neither my wife nor I have "blonde" hair! My daughter has her mother's eyes. My son has his grandmother's. But you can look at them and instantly see that they are our children - from facial structure resemblance.

The fact is, whether or not I'm attracted to her should matter a hell of a lot more than her race.

That is pretty much my attitude as well. It just amazes me how narrow-minded peopled still are in reference to this, this is why posted it. I was more curious than anything else, I've dated latinas, asians, native americans, and etc. And it was never a problem,...now all of a sudden it is. Just shows how much narrow-minded these people still are even in this day and age. And living in south florida, sometimes we get "looks" from people. And my basic attitude is "fuck them", you want to be an asshole...then so bit it. But how dare they fucking judge us. I mean I'm Italian and Austrian decent, so why is that an problem? As far as I am concerned I was born here in the US, I am an AMERICAN..and she is the same way. Just amazes me the racism these days still exists.
