JPMorgan Chase closing the accounts of pornstars for "MORAL REASONS"

JP Morgan talking about moral is like ISIS talking about freedom

Relevant news read... meh, dunno what's going on, in the end I'm sure things will be somewhat clearer on the situation as a whole.

Well I'll tell you this.... I talked with the Bank manager at my branch and he said it actually IS because I am in the adult industry, period. He said there is no reason whatsoever that my account would be flagged high risk other than that. He said I am not the only one he's seen this done to and he is close to leaving the company because of it. I have an almost 800 credit score, never bounced a check, no collections, no fraudulent activity, pay my taxes and claim every cent I get so I can never be trapped by an audit. This story in MotherJones is the ONLY place they are arguing this, and of course Chase on the record is going to deny what they are doing.

Yeah it was the only record on their defense I found actually. Just thought on sharing a link to this, I am sorry for what has happened with you and others due to this decision Ms. Flores.

Have you ever considered going offshore?

No that move is generally reserved for people trying to hide their money, I'm not concerned about hiding what i make. More so i need an account to do my daily activities. But, now that i'm thinking about it, I could have all my deposits done in an offshore, and then make transfers of my monthly allowance to a regular bank account. I just think it draws too much negative attention when you have an off shore account and you don't have millions to defend yourself if the Government comes to fuck you over.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Yeah, going offshore wouldn't help you at all, and would probably hurt you. In addition to being risky (no FDIC insurance), it's also VERY inconvenient - and you'd probably still need an intermediary bank/financial institution based here to help you with that. The Feds are focusing on money center banks with Choke Point. Just go with a smaller local or regional bank that is known to do business with adult performers and/or businesses. When we had the strip club many moons ago, I was still in banking. But being a silent partner, we couldn't have our business account where I worked or at the bank where I did my personal business. So we went with a local bank where several of the other strip club owners had accounts. That was the one part of that disaster that worked out OK.
