I just saw the discovery "documentary" on the new tomb they found in Jeruselum. Supposedly it might be the tomb of Jesus and his ******. They found a lot of evidence linking the people in the tomb together, but nothing conclusive saying this is Jesus and his ******. Now I'm not Christian what so ever (actually Hindu)...But I still found this very interesting. To me, this evidence was pretty dam good, but not good enough. What they did was take bone samples and get DNA evidence on the relations of the people in the tomb. This showed that if these are MaryMagdalen and Jesus then their DNA shouldn't match, which it didn't. They also found a "***" of Jesus, if this was him. But like I said, nothing was conclusive. They did a probability scale on the chance of these names occuring in the same ******, and it was pretty great, something like 1 out thousands and narrowed for time to 1 out of 600. So the chance of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, MaryMagdalen, and others from the Bible was pretty small. So...this might actually be the tomb...But like I said...evidence so far is not conclusive.
And actually they, the film makers and the researchers, are in a legal battle for such evidence. A lot of scholars are coming out against this find (as I continue to watch this unfold on Discovery as i write this). These people against the find aren't only christians they are also people who don't even believe in God.
To me (no offense to any Christians) I feel as though Catholics will ****** the find. Because if Jesus was buried here, and he did have ****, then DaVince was close in his interpretation, and the Pope truely doesn't have the power of leadership; and infact the position of leader goes to the decendants of Jesus. I highly doubt this should impact the religion more than this. I think all followers should still follow the bible if anything, but no more pope, that's all.
What say you all?
