I just read on a forum I use to be active on (and which I still read on occasion) that she's a Magic The Gathering player. I recently found 14 "bricks", or boxes of cards, in excellent condition and I'm trying to figure out how to play the game. There's so many damn cards it's a bit daunting. I sold most of the rarer ones, and was told I'd get about $10/box for the rest, so I figure I'll keep 'em.
I was wondering if she could give me some advice. I know I need to get to a game shop and start watching games in progress, but I want to know what sort of dumb mistakes most newbs make when getting into this scene. I'm posting this on the forum in case there are any other MTG players here. I could use all the advice I could get because I've never played the game in my life.
