Jack in the Box to outsource Drive Thru

Updated: Thursday, January 29, 2009

Don’t you just love a fast-food restaurant drive- through? It is such a convenience to not even have to get up out of your car to order pick up your food. How about when you get to the pick-up window and your order is completely messed up, though? Well, I hate that with a passion. Who doesn’t? Some of the well-known fast-food chains will make you want to get up and go inside to order your meal with what they have in store.

more fry ? dank u sir

I saw this on the news a few days ago. They said that the "outsourcing" would be a phone bank in another part of the same town, and that no American jobs would be lost. I'm inclined to call bullshit on that. The only plus I can think of is if they staff the call centers with people that actually speak English, and you don't have to fuck around for half an hour while the staff inside the restaurant finds a dictionary to find out what "no onions, double the cheese" means. :crash:

Hardee's/Carl's Jr. has been doing this nationally for about a year now. You can tell when its happening because the voice that asked for your order is different than the one that tells you to pull forward, and there's often a change in audio quality and background noises. Honestly, though, I think it has only improved the quality of their service. Which makes sense if you think about it... the person in the call center is giving you their full attention, while a drive-thru attendant is probably doing three things at once.

The jack in the box up the street from my house has been doing this. You can tell because the person speaks good English and you can actually hear them.

Now I know this is mildly off limits.. but the last time I caved in to my desire to eat a McFat Patty... ugh. go the fuck back to mexico. I cant understand you half the time, my friend. You're an alright person, but dammit.. you work at McAmerica burger. Speak McAmerican and make it McAlready.

Now you KNOW the economy is fucked.

Maybe we can outsource this disgusting shit food somehow. I think other countries won't despise us so much if they realized that we, as a country, live on this shit. They would then feel bad for us and leave us alone...

Conspiracy...
Don’t be surprised if the next time you go to order a burger, a man or woman in a foreign country asks, “Do you want fries with that?”

What!? :crash:

I hope not. I will not be a happy customer.

I will tell them what I think about their decision. :D

Then they will receive letters. :hatsoff:

I will stop using the drive-thru and just drive up to the window and tell them what I want, like I do sometimes.

If they do that then who are you supposed to threaten to beat the crap out of when they screw up your order? That seems kind of unfair to the consumer. ;)

Have you ever heard the term outsourcing? For those that don’t know, outsourcing is when a company will purchase goods or subcontract from an outside supplier or source.

There are still people who haven't heard the term outsourcing? :helpme:

I say let's just open the f-in borders and let's all just go anarchist. Then, the people who actually have half a brain and want stable, good clean communities can relocate and band together with their arms, and we can start all over. Sort of like the Articles: a weak central government, with strong local governments with autonomy over what happens in their 'neck'. This country is just so totally going down the drain for the average American right now, because of the elite.

Okay, so if some drive- through places have trouble receiving your order from a few feet away, is sending your order to another state really going to be that much of a improvement? I think not! These companies might as well stick with taking orders the way it has been done. This way, they could improve on the technology that they already have and prevent confusion and angry, hungry customers.

Not true. The Jack In The Box by my house that does this has a legit order box.
