Itunes Horror

It happened again the other day- I tried to manually add a few songs- I'm fairly sure they were in the mp3 format- it was trying to sync, but they could not be added on for some reason- that circle kept going round and round on the IPOD without stopping- I finally said screw it and I cut it off (hit the x)- lo and behold most of my songs were unplayable. Basically my 2800 songs disappeared. On the IPOD- the song had a red circle with the square in the middle, and when you try to play it- it skips over it to the next song that is available. Why does this happen? I read you should not interrupt a sync. Is this the result? I had no choice but to interrupt it. I had to sync my library again. I was able to get all songs back on. What did I do wrong in this case? I prefer manually adding songs. Thx.

I have had so much trouble with iTunes, I would have got rid of it long ago if I didnt have my iPod, my collection is far too big to fit on my phone so I need to use an iPod classic, touch wood though things have been ok recently...

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
I'll never understand why people don't manage their library.

If you're like me, you have a bunch of songs you don't listen too anymore but still keep around for nostalgia sake (i.e. not really into Chingy anymore now that I've graduated college). So if I don't want a song to play (i.e. Balla Baby), then I just un-click the box next to it. Now it won't play or sync to any of my devices. Out of the 3,000 songs I have only 1,200 of them are on my iPhone. Those 1,200 songs are also the only ones that play when I shuffle. If something happens and all my music is deleted off my phone, all I have to do is sync it to iTunes and it's automatically on there. I think this is an efficient way to manage music.

I also have all of my music backed up in the cloud and on an external hard drive just in case.

Side note: So does anyone else make sure that the song title, artist, album artist, composer, genre, year, track #, disc #, and album artwork are all correct on each of their songs? God I hope so...
