It is amazing a government could kill offown citizens to justify a war. Truth of it I guess is not proved, but still most worrying.

Interesting quote: "The whole point of a democracy is to have leaders responding to the public will, and here this is the complete reverse, the military trying to trick the American people into a war that they want but that nobody else wants."

And I guess also this is not the first or last time it has happened if you choose to believe various media sources! :(

Hey, pal, it is very good and important to be skeptical about the corporate media but in this case you should know that there are plenty of declassified government documents lying around waiting to be read detailing Operation Northwoods and Operation Mongoose etc. Ever heard of the Freedom of Information act? That law requires the U.S. government to declassify documents so that we can know what the fuck they are up to.

If you do not believe this news outlet maybe just maybe you might believe a poet.

United Fruit Co.
by poet Pablo Neruda (Nobel Laureate) from Canto General

When the trumpet blared everything
on earth was prepared
and Jehova distributed the world
to Coca Cola Inc., Anaconda,
Ford Motors and other entities:
United Fruit Inc.
reserved for itself the juiciest,
the central seaboard of my land,
America's sweet waist.
It rebabtized its lands
the "Banana Republics,"
and upon the slumbering corpses,
upon the restless heroes
who conquered renown,
freedom, flags,
it established the comic opera:
it alienated self-destiny,
regaled Caesar's crowns,
unsheathed envy, attracted
the tyrannical reign of the flies:
Trujillo flies, Tacho flies,
Carías flies, Martínez flies,
Ubico flies, flies soaked
in humble blood and jam,
drunken flies that drone
over the common graves,
circus flies, clever flies
versed in tyranny.

Among the bloodthirsty flies
the Fruit Co. disembarks,
ravaging coffee and fruits
for its ships that spirit away
our submerged lands' treasures
like serving trays.

Meanwhile, in the seaports'
sugary abysses,
Indians collapsed, buried
in the morning mist:
a body rolls down, a nameless
thing, a fallen number,
a bunch of lifeless fruit
dumped in the rubbish heap.

While these are all good links... I think they should be kept in one thread...

You can title it.. "Im a depressed person and live in the past so no one else can view the forum without seeing 3 threads that might depress them as well."

Yeah, but i think its still important to inform... too many americans don't know anything about this war... :2 cents:

If its all about "this war" then it should all be in one "this war" thread. I don't need to visit a porn forum to be informed by you. No offense meant. One thread. I respect your opinion however and I do know what you are trying to say, but my opinion is that if a person wants to be informed by you (As in You All and not just you in particular Dan.) then let them visit the one thread.

Some of the titles are eye openers and make me want to open them... but its all leading to the same thing. Don't waste my time... I chose not to view one of your threads after openning it... I don't want to have to open three more of the same thing and make the decision all over again. I get my news from the people who are paid professionals. I get my information from experts in their field. I would believe Bush before I believed anything on this board... And I don't like Bush.

Must agree with Goblin - Mr Penishands appears to be posting a lot of peculiar threads which is by no means a bad thing I guess but if all can be in one thread it makes less sense to use the whole forum.

Also I never said i disbelieve,I just said "if you trust" as a way so I did not get called a fool for believe everything I have read. I imagine truth is on both sides as well as lies, in any circumstance! :)

You sound like you should work for the Ministry of Truth like that character Winston Smith in the novel 1984. Just toss everything into the memory hole, right?

let's not forget this line right here from the 6th paragraph of that article:

"The plans had the written approval of all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and were presented to President Kennedy's defense secretary, Robert McNamara, in March 1962. But they apparently were rejected by the civilian leadership and have gone undisclosed for nearly 40 years."

-which states that a select few thought up this idea and thankfully, McNamara rejected it and I'd say it's possible he mentioned it to JFK, and obviously he didn't ask for the plans or consider them.

i just wanted to clear up any misconceptions anyone may have come to about American policy as a result of this article.

This isn't a memory hole. This is a message board. Stop generalizing like everyone is out to get you. All Im saying is that *I* feel that it should be kept to one thread. I have nothing against you.

I reported this thread and asked a moderator. Again... The report wasn't against you. I just think that it should be kept to one thread.
