if you ****** a black guy because he's an asshole, it's assault. if you ****** him simply because of his skin colour, it's a hatecrime.
so then by extension every **** is a hatecrime because the victim is attacked because of her gender.
then again, as silvia plath once said (or wrote), "every crime is committed to fill a void."
this is true, i think; but the term hatecrime seems to put more emphasis on the victim than the attacker. the ****** ***** because of some urge (self-esteem issues, his *** beat him too much, wtv), whereas the victim has no part in deciding this at all.
so instead of saying the victim was black or a woman, should we not rather say the attacker was a racist or a sexist? and why is **** called a sexcrime? sex and **** are not related.
