Using the divinity's name as a curse word is not taking the Lord's name in vain.
The original use of swearing with words representing divinity is to avoid laying a curse on someone, "curse word", which is to wish harm and or evil on some one, so instead of damn you and go to Hell, one would say Jesus Christ all mighty, or God Damn it (not GD you) as A means of asking for intervention because the person uttering names of divinity was feeling hatred or rage against an individual.
Taking the Lord's name in vain is using scripture or cherry picking passages in the bible to serve one's own personal agenda or support dogma over spiritual practice, or even singing the praises of God upon someone, God bless you and Jesus loves you, just to make yourself look gracious and spiritual, which most religions do.
