the enzo, carrera GT, pagani, F430, gallardo etc etc are all lighter (and is some cases, much lighter) than 1540kg. the only cars that weigh 2 tons+ are the veyron and mercedes s class, BMW 7 series, and so on.

I don't know shit about cars. But my dream car is a 2003 Aston-Martin V12 Vanquish. That is a thing of beauty.

Vipers have always been overrated. The newer lines of their body aren't even as good as the earlier ones are, and in that picture I find the red breaks distracting, awful looking, and garish. They put those type of beaks on some Chargers to and it looks just as bad on them.

I will also say that the Vipers more than any other sports car are one of those cars that look better in a picture in a magazine or on the Internet shot at just the right angle and with nothing else to judge it by.. When you look at one in person you can get a better perspective of it's proportions and it looks kind of dinky.

It's only saving grace is that it's not as bad as America's only other real production sport car made in any quantity, the Corvette, which has become shameful is an embarrassment to what it once was.

I know if I had the money to buy a Viper and wanted a sports car I would just rather spend the money on a good Porsche. Not only is almost everything about it probably better, but because it’s not made by Dodge it will probably break down a lot less.

Seriously,I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

The older Vipers were pure shit body wise because they didn't even make a roof for them, and if I recall correctly, they didn't have side windows either. There was a shit looking add on roof that made the car look so fucking stupid. Also, the body lines now have more of a straight look to them with more defined angles. The old ones were bubbled looking, especially in the front end.It almost looked like you couldn't even see over the hood.

But that's all subjective stuff that,in essence, doesn't really matter. My main gripe with your post is your disrespect of Vettes.I will admit that the ones from a few years ago with that stupid looking bubble top were shit, and the fact that a lot of them were automatic transmission(no fucking car that's classified as a sports car should EVER be automatic. If middle aged women want to drive one to look like big a shot, then learn to fucking drive stick),but you obviously know nothing of the new ZR1.To say 600 horsepower is a shell of what Vettes used to be,then I would love to see the monster Vettes of the 50's and up.

Oh wait,they don't exist.

Well, yeah...it's obviously a stretch, A stretch to say an $80K auto is the baddest ever - is pretty obvious. I always loved the Cabrerra GT, but when I thought about it, American muscle lends something more to a person being from North America and as far as i'm cocerned there are few American sports cars (if any) that are as sick looking as the SRT.

the Viper is ok, but it doesn't get any more bad ass than the Bugatti Veyron.

Yeah. $2.2 Mill for the Bugatti. I think there's only several dozen made a year and a waiting list (as there's a waiting list for other Euro exotic cars).

german cars > american cars

The whole thing is getting a bit incestuous over there..Audi and Bughatti are owned by Volkswagen.BMW owns Rolls-Royce and Mini. And VW and Porsche are going to merge in 2011.

I guess it going to be all one big happy family over there sooner of later.

Then there's Volvo,Saab, and Mercedes-Benz that are all American owned(appearently,Saab is being bought by Koenigsegg though, with the sale pending and to be finalized by the end of the year).

The automobile business is so wacky, isn't it?

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I knew a fellow who belonged to a Viper Club in Michigan and I got to see some wild modifications. And I have to admit, I like the look of the 2nd gen. Viper, specifically the GTS. But without major upgrades, they don't handle that great and they don't stop all that great - and the build quality is generally pretty shitty (not nearly as well built as the C6 Corvette or many other higher end sports and GT cars). It's basically a modern take on the original Cobra Daytona Coupe... which is fine. When it first came out, I considered the Viper to be a bold move by a bold man: Bob Lutz.

But its time is over & done; it's just not that great of a sports car, IMO - especially this last (and final) generation. :dunno:

no, this is!

im really not that into American cars but this car has no faults.
