Is pornography beneficial or detrimental to a relationship?

I'm single, so detrimental.

I think it not only depends on the people involved, but also the amount of usage. I've been totally fine with past bfs watching a bit of porn here or there, especially when I wasn't around to have sex. However, when I dated a guy who had a sex addiction and couldn't go a day without wanking at least twice, which was on TOP of us having sex a few times...then it became extremely detrimental to my self esteem and our relationship as a whole. So for me, occasional use is neither beneficial or detrimental - it is what it is. But excessive use is VERY detrimental.

my wife doesn't necessarily "like" it, but the few times she watched it with me, she went looking for scenes that depicted the type of sex that she likes. Also, the few times that it was an issue, I just told her I think of porn as a video instructional manual. She really doesn't like the porn with the girls who look young though. She thinks I'm looking to trade her in. Or some shit.

I have been with my old lady for 10 years. In the beginning it was very, very detrimental. Jealousy was an insanely huge factor. Now that the honeymoon years are over, it's very, very beneficial. It keeps me from cheating, that's for sure! (I'm one who believes looking at porn isn't cheating) And it sure is nice, I must say. I don't have to try as hard to hide the porn.
Man, if they had this shit when I was younger...I would have probably turned out to be a totally different person.

by Amateur I mean real sex

pro porno is fake do you really believe a girl cums when she makes all those ohssss ahhhhh yessss screams ect

even the guys fake it with icing sugar mixed with water ( oops told a secret there in the porn business )

maybe as a woman I do look at it differently

but when a husband and wife send in a video of them having sex its real not fake and yes the shots are not so great but it means more to me knowing its real sex not fake

thats just my opinion

It doesn't have to be either, but in an open-minded relationship I'd say it's probably more beneficial since you hopefully have enough confidence in each other to just use porn as inspiration.
