Is Pantera The Best Metal Band Ever?

I just finished listening to The Great Southern Trendkill for the first time in years. I forgot how much that album rocked. Wish I could have seen them live....they were a machine.

They are my favourite metal band - so to me, the answer is yes.

But Sporty_Carr my dear boy you know as well as I that one can not be objective about music, film or any other art form. At the end of the day it comes down to personal taste and nothing more. So to call something the "best" is only going to really mean anything to your subjective viewpoint.

Are Pantera the best? In my opinion yes. In your opinion, yes? But in the wider arena of music appreciation, no. Because it's all relative.

Pantera is very good. "Vulgar Display of Power" is among the best metal records of all time.

However I am going to say that in my opinion System of A Down are my favorite metal band

My favorite metal bands are Sodom, Overkill and Slayer. Pantera is fine too, but.. i dunno, sometimes they get on my nerves
