Is Malwarebytes The Best Anti-Virus?

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
If not Malwarebytes, what is the best anti-virus? I just bought a new PC Desktop on Cyber Monday.

Depends....sometimes your best virus protection comes from a box of Trojans.

Using a mix always helps. Back in my PC days I would have at least 2 different scanners going. SOMETIMES they won't get along, but malwarebytes is usually is pretty chill. Its the fancy anti-virus stuff that will get stubborn about other software.

Thanks Adam. Do you have an opinion on Kaspersky? I bought an Alienware Gaming PC and I'd be willing to pay for good protection.

When my PC was in deep shit, I used to use their free online scan, I don't know if they still do that, but they used to find things other guys didn't.

Malwarebytes is more for checking up on malware, not so much viruses. Still would recommend using it though.
And then next to it a virus scanner. I've been using AVG for the longest time, it is free: https://www.avg.com

I use bitdefender (viruses) + malwarebytes (malware, phishing, etc) and I have the pro version of both. In the course of my work I have to click on some pretty shady shit and have never gotten a virus or malware.

I've used just about every anti-virus program out there (except bit defender) and had problems with all of them, except one, AVG.

I used the free version for years and ended up buying it when they bundled PC Tuneup with it. I also use Malware Bytes. I had a friend who was an IT specialist recommended it.

Yeah me too, I also have bit defender and malware bytes and never got any viruses or anything like that. I use them since 2006.

I normally don't use one, but when I do get pick something up I download free stuff like malwarebytes and ad aware which normally will sort it out. Anti-virus seems to slow down by computer too much so then I uninstall it all

Seems a few of you go with a combination of Bitdefender and Malwarebytes. I should get the premium editions for both. Is the Premium VPN necessary and basically what the heck is a Premium VPN?

VPN=Virtual Private Network. The VPN is not included in the premium offer of bit defender internet security but it enables you to see sites that can't be seen in your country and hides your IP from potential hackers. It allows fast surfing too.

Thanks Georges.

Does anybody or do you know anybody who uses PC Matic? Those commercials are on the TV all day long.

Back in my PC days...

Are you running a version of Windows on the other side of your Mac using Parallels or Bootcamp?

On the Mac side, I just run Virus Barrier. What are you using? But I think that your OS is a lot newer than mine.

On the Windows side, I run AVG and SpyBot.

My plan for my next system is (again) a Mac main system and on the other side, Windows XP SP3 or 7, with VERY limited internet access. I need to ask my guy if he can configure the Windows side so that it only gets internet access if I grant permission each time. Windows 10 is a spyware program in itself. Windows XP and 7 do everything that I need to get done. I can play on the Mac side and do work too. Any opinions?
