Is it time for Ricky Gervais to retire?

Sure the office was worthy, in my opinion, of all the awards
it won and extras was quite good. But since then he's really
started to irritate me with far to many pointless and repetitive
TV appearances on some show or other in addition to various
movies roles. All flops to my knowledge. Is he still funny or has
he passed his sell by date? :wave2:

Yup. Couldn't agree more.

Time to move into the director's chair, or write scripts, have a pint at the local pub, live your friggin' life, plant trees in the desert. Something. Anything.

 Deffo! The most pointless twat on the planet, still making it off the back of the office. I remember he was onstage for the opening of the new Wembley Stadium and had to fill out his routine for 15 mins because of a delay! He totally bombed

Well, the good news for you blokes is that Ricky Gervais crossed the pond and is currently applying his trade to American audiences, so you can relax for the time being.

The unfunny fat toad should have retired before he started [which was at the mere thought of starting a career].

I enjoyed Ghost Town. I believe is what it was called. Beyond that I could care less.

He should have retired when he died on his arse at that Diana tribute thingy

I dont like the smarmy cunt

He was good for a laugh on Night At the Museum. Apart from that, I don't really care what he does. I'm not required by law to watch any of it.

That was actually at the Princess Diana concert that he "bombed"

He's still a very funny guy but I don't think he's selected the best projects in recent years, he's in need of a comeback.

The Office was really good but the best thing he's ever done was the radio show on XFM with Steve Merchant and Karl Pilkington. They tried to replicate it with the podcast shows but it just didn't have the same magic.

I'm not really a fan of the guy either, I like The Office and a couple Extras episodes, his later film work hasn't really been great but if you don't like the guy why do you continue to watch his stuff. Just don't watch his films, TV shows and TV appearances. That way you won't have to be confronted with his presence as often as you are.

It would seem he still has mass appeal which means he's still going to find work and until that runs dry why would he or anyone for that matter want it to stop?
