I definitely thought this was an assari thread ...

I've asked some female porn performers if they are religious and they all say yes they are christian and some even attend church periodically and pray to a god. They say it is not bad to god because they are not cheating on anyone or breaking marriage vows but that what they do is considered a profession.

Is it a contradiction of a supposed god's law or moral rules that man has set? Can a professional porn performer be a practicing christian?

 Another moralist. GTFO.

It's kind of difficult to be a Christian, if you don't believe in Christ or the Trinity.

Daphne Rosen, Nilli Willis, Sexy Sabra, Nicole Moore, April Diamonds, Ginger Lang, Nico Luna, and Eden Mor.

Unless these ladies, believe in JFJ. Which I honestly doubt.

Well played. :batman:

My Maker hard-wired me to appreciate the curves of a woman. He also hard-wired women to be exhibitionists.
What a lovely combination.
It's the religious control freaks who are determined to make beautiful creations dirty.
Each should decide on their own, if performing in adult movies or watching adult movies conflicts with their own beliefs.
If one's heart is troubled, quit.
If you sleep well, as I do, keep on strokin' ladies and gentlemen.

No, it isn't.

People aren't perfect. We're all works in progress. This is just a truth with or without religion being part of the discussion.

If a porn star is a Christian (of which there are many flavors), I'm sure it would be viewed as the pornography would just be a very visible sin. How that Christian chooses to reconcile this is between that person and God, not others.

Argue all you want about God, Religion, Catechism, etc I'm just answering the question.

Assuming that being a pornstar is a sin, sinning does not clash at all with Christianity. It's part of it. Jesus came and died to cleanse our sins, and confession and repentance play a big role in the life of a Christian and their Church. Christians do their best to follow the precepts of Jesus and then they will be judged by God, at the end of their lives. Without mentioning that forgiveness may be accorded. Famous is the Gospels' episode where Jesus reprimands the scribes and the Pharisees who wanted to stone a woman caught in an act of adultery, forgiving the woman and pronouncing the famous phrase ‘Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.’ Amen.

Careful Sabrina, before you know it, someone will come on this thread and tell you to GTFO a porn board. That you have no business participating here.

I agree completely. I believe we are making the same point, coming at it from different angles.

My interpretation of the thread was that assumption was made. I don't spend too much of my time thinking about it, but I don't believe I agree with the assumption itself.

I don't quote "scripture", since the bible itself is not a properly sourced work.

"Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, cdivisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." (Galatians 5:19–21)

Just saying.

Are you suggesting that it is contradictory for someone who gets drunken or angry to be a Christian? What about rivalries? No heaven for CEOs and footbal players? Soldiers and policemen they all go to hell? It might be so, but then it is contradictory for 99.9% of the worldwide population to be a Christian since humanity have stepped in this world and this thread can be closed given it's rhetorical meaning.
That's a specific, personal letter from Paul to the Galatians and i don't think it reflects the essence of Christianity more than Jesus words, for a believer. Following that letter literally would mean to wipe the institution of confession and the concept of forgiveness tout-court. In fact we could just rewrite the New Testament and shortening it to that sentence. A bit reductive, i believe.

What I wanted to say is that with every quote given (you gave the quote "let every man who's free of sin cast..."), there's another quote we can provide from scripture(s) that says something else. I can provide some other quotes concerning sexuality if you want: Corinthians 7:3-5; Hebrews 13:4; Genesis 2:24; 1 Corinthians 6:18; Proverbs 5:18-19 ; 1 Corinthians 7:2; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5; Matthew 5:28; Colossians 3:5 ; 1 Corinthians 7:5; 1 Corinthians 6:18-20; Exodus 20:14; 1 Corinthians 6:13 ; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Proverbs 6:32; 1 Timothy 1:10 ; Galatians 5:19-21; Leviticus 20:13; 1 Corinthians 7:1-2 ; 1 Thessalonians 4:7; Mark 7:20-23; Leviticus 18:22; 1 Thessalonians 4:4 ; Job 31:1 ; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Ephesians 5:3; Romans 1:26-27; Romans 1:27; Romans 1:24-27 ; Song of Solomon 1:1-17 ; 2 Timothy 2:22; 1 Corinthians 6:12-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Song of Solomon 4:13-16 ; 1 John 2:15-16 ; Galatians 5:19 ; Matthew 15:19-20; Genesis 1:28 ; Genesis 1:27 ; Romans 13:9 ; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Romans 1:26 ; Song of Solomon 7:7 ; Matthew 5:27-30 ; 2 Kings 23:7; 1 Peter 2:11 ; Titus 2:12; Galatians 6:1-18 ; Proverbs 31:2-3; Genesis 19:4-8 ; Genesis 4:25; 1 Corinthians 6:11 ; Song of Solomon 4:16; Proverbs 1:1-7; Genesis 29:23; Genesis 4:17 ; Jude 1:7; Proverbs 5:19 ; 1 Kings 15:12; Genesis 4:1; Genesis 19:1-38 ; Numbers 31:17-18. And so on. The scriptures really love to talk about sex.
But usually the debate after that goes something like "Oh, but that's from the Old Testament that doesn't count" or "that's not from the King James bible that doesn't count" or "You shouldn't read that so strictly it's a metaphore" or in this case "that's a letter and it doesn't reflect Christianity". In itself this says something about Christianity (or religion in general) but that's another debate.

Strictly speaking the OP is correct in my opinion. You have a religion where church and scriptures basically say that sex outside of marriage and sex for pleasure is a sin and shouldn't be done. For a big part of your life you are doing a mortal sin (meaning: deliberate turning away from god) and you know that you are doing a mortal sin because as a christian you have to try to avoid it. So, knowing that you turn away from god for a big part of your life and yet calling yourself a christian is a contradiction. Yet the excuse is always the famous wildcard: I can always ask for forgiveness.

In my personal view as an atheist I don't see anything wrong with pornography. But if you call yourself a christian (or whatever religion people choose) you can't just pick the things you like to suit your needs and discard everything else with an excuse.

Christianity's forgiveness is a wildcard? Wow! That's what you don't understand, guys: we are all sinners, we can all do our best to gain forgiveness through faith. There are people following the Bible literally who might not be saved because in truth they have no faith and there are atheists who may find the faith a moment before they die and get salvation, just to make two opposite examples.
There is no contradiction in sinning and being a Christian.

“Salvation is not of works, but of faith”.
