Mmmmm i see..... You make a compelling case Blink. It should also be noted that i am not a doctor, but i play one on tv! One should try to avoid literally "Tearing it up" as theres nothing sexy about a bleedin bumhole.
One should simply avoid the practice entirely, IMO. Looked at pragmatically, the sole benefit of short-term pleasure is not worth the many potential downsides; especially not the long-term ones and those requiring surgical repair/alterations.

PS: Heres a marvelous article on the in's & out's of Anal Sex entitled........ Entering the forbidden door! Tally Ho!
An article written by some anonymous woman? It's not bad, but seriously -- known credentials are a good thing.

Besides, plenty of people aren't being careful (or are using the wrong lubes...). Pointing out that they should be might help, but eventually some of them are going to grow careless (after all, it's much more pleasurable for the giver if he's rough). Thus, it's better by far to simply discourage the dangerous activity. At least until the medical community puts forth a concerted effort to educate the public.

no i am not turned off with anal lol

Here, here...... not revive the debate on this thread anymore but the point of sex is to do what you want. Like it? Then do it, watch it, get off on it, if not.. move on...... anal sex has been around since the romans and will be around until Spock is human. Just my two cents. :nanner:

I feel the same way. I don't care personally if people do or don't do anal - it's their choice.

Nice pic, btw.

Since the Romans? I doubt it took thousands of years for some woman to say..."stick it there"...or for some gay guys to say "hmmm...I've got a good idea!"

To answer the original question asked by this thread: yes.

Here's some interesting anatomical info: The protective lining of the vagina consists of, on average, 26-28 cellular layers (depending on the mestrual phase). The rectal lining, OTOH, is composed of one single cellular layer. It's often referred to as a delicate tissue, and it tears easily (potentially leading to inflammation, infection, and ulcers).

The average thickness of the vaginal lining is 260 micrometers. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find a comparable measurement of the rectum's lining. That might be because the vagina's lining tends to have a smooth surface, whereas the rectum's lining varies in elevation and has many pits.

I have a new sig. The linked web page is maintained by me and contains information that I've gathered from sources which I consider to be reliable in this context. Among them are a proctologist, medical doctors, U.S. Government sites (NIH and PubMed), and educational institutions (mainly for anatomical info). These are all made explicitly clear, and I try to provide multiple references that back up particular claims.

If you have any comments or suggestions, then please let me know.
