Your friends have to be jealous. If you were 30-40 years apart, then it might be a bit strange. 5 years does not seem such a big deal when you are both over 25 years old. Hopefully you are enjoying your self.

My Great Grandfather married a woman 33 years younger than him, but her ****** had it annulled, she was 65 years old. But society was different in 1910.

I'm 32, dating a 23 year old......we've been together nearly a year....had some rough spots, like any relationship......but I got lucky, because most of the time she acts a lot older than a typical 23 year old.....that being said.......five years? Perfectly acceptable. Perfectly. What are you worried about? Were you all that different five years ago? I doubt it.

A good friend of mine is married to a woman almost half his age (first and only marriage). They have two wonderful ********. They're a great couple and make a good ****** and a warm home.

His only regret is that he "found love" so late in life - he's afraid that he might not be around to see his **** graduate, get married, start their own ******... I understand how he feels


Anyway, the point of all this sermonizing is to tell you that while it's nice your friends give their input, it's ultimately up to you.

Age is but a number. Yes, it's a number that has consequences (trust me, I'm an old, old fart)... but if you're willing to accept its consequences in search of mutual joy; go for it!

And finally: Never permit other individuals to decide what's right for you. Figuring it out for yourself is perhaps the last free choice anyone of us truly has. Make up your own mind. You'll be better off for it.

I started going out with my girlfriend when I was 21 and she was 16. Where I live the age of consent is 16 so it was perfectly legal.

The age difference wasn't a problem and I (barely) escaped being branded as a paedo or a sex offender. Ended up with a young tight hottie. Yum!

Once the legal boundaries are crossed, the age difference shouldn't be much of an issue as long as you feel comfortable together.
