Irregular ***** suggestions

I would like some opinions on how to get to ***** fairly quickly if you have an irregular ***** pattern. In my case I have a job which makes me keep a really awkward ***** "pattern" if you can call it that at all. For several years I've been able to deal with it fine, but for the past few months I've been having difficulties getting to ***** at night. This is especially bad when I only have 2 or 3 hours before I have to be back at work.

Any ideas?

How I fall a ***** quickly:

Have a TV near your bed, lay down and watch it. If a boring show is on TV, the faster you fall a *****. It works for me always.

For some reason smoking always help me *****, i have one before i go to bed it works all the time, try having a ***** or something.

I haven't found an answer yet. I suffer insomnia and won't take any type ******** pill. I keep thinking it will get better on its own. :( One person had mentioned anxiety as a cause. I think that and overall stress is my demon. I will watch the thread though. Sorry I couldn't help.

You may find something that works for you in here.

For a few months I used to go into deep catnaps. I'd put my earphones on, play a CD I liked and slip away into oblivion, 5-10 minutes later I'd **** up completely refreshed, I'd do that twice a day and that was my ***** cycle.

Sometimes certain soothing sounds--a waterfall, a quiet rain, wind--can lure you into *****. Some companies make sound devices you put next to your bed that play these sounds and help you get to *****.:)

Don't smoke, and the ***** hasn't done much.

If I have a tv near my bed I just end up channel surfing and not falling ******.

Warm milk.
Hasn't helped before.

That's pretty much how I've been for the past few months, but it's not cutting it for me. After a 5-minute power *** and a ******* energy ***** I feel fine for about 2 hours, but then it starts to hit me.

Try to stay awake, that always makes me go to *****

Well, eventually that gets me to fall ******, but I was looking more for a way to get to ***** ASAP. When it's 3:30 in the morning and I have to be at my next gig at 8, and considering that I live 45 minutes away from that gig, wasting an hour tossing and turning doesn't really help much.

might sound like a silly idea but it did work for me; try raising the head of your bed a few inches. I have bad ***** apnea and this helped me fall ****** and stay ****** longer. I laughed at the doctor when he suggested this, but it worked. I used a couple of boards. Don't waste your time with pills if you don't have at least 6 hours to ***** and some have some really interesting side effects; on one pill I woke up naked in my driveway.

That's something I'll have to try. I'd never thought of that. Thanks.

Try to get some cardio action going at some point several hours before you intend to turn in, preferably when you rise for the day i.e. a bike ride, a jog etc.
It sounds cheesy but the human body needs some exercise for complete and thorough rest.

Here's a thread about split shift ********, although I doubt there's anything useful within - Premium Link Upgrade

Split shift ******** can come back and kick your ass ! Sometimes it takes a while to manifest, but it does !
It sounds like you may have a bit of that going on . . maybe ?

When I lack the ***** I need (common) I get, trashed, if you couldn't tell . . . at times :o

Being self employed and carrying another separate job (me) will gut you if you allow it to.

It's all about meeting ends, isn't it ? We're so lucky !

:pukey: NOT ! :o

good suggestion facetious.
i had the same problem almost all my life, trouble falling ******.
daily exercise definately helps alot.

Well, I try going to the gym often, but with my work schedule that doesn't always happen. 18 hour shifts are fairly common for me, especially over the summer. There's times when I'm on 10- or more- day runs. That works out to almost 120 hours a week. During said runs the only thing on my mind when I'm not at work is *****, which doesn't always happen right away, which is the reason why I started this thread. :)

I don't think that the human body can easily adapt to the schedule you're currently working. The body clock can't anticipate what your schedule is ! lol You're probably eating junk out on the road too, like most people, whatever is convenient . . . right ?

Unless you're a fairly young guy (18 - 25) I would consider another line of work. Remember, ***** isn't cumulative forever ! Eventually, you'll have to return the body to regular ***** paterns. I hope that you're not a high rise structure iron worker or involved in some other hazardous occupation.

I've tried this game before and and I lost. If we hurt ourselves, oh well :dunno:
but others no way !

Steady There !

I actually get fed at work. If I work over 5 hours I get fed about 90% of the time. On the aforementioned 18-hour days we get a light breakfast in the morning, a sandwich or something similar at lunch, beef, chicken, or fish at dinner, and something like pizza at 11ish.

I'm not a high structure iron worker, but I am an entertainment rigger.
