I don't think Iron Maiden are the best heavy metal band of all time (that's got to be the original Black Sabbath for me), but they were just about the best band to emerge in the UK in the 1980 new wave of heavy metal.

And they've certainly had enduring popularity, especially Stateside where hm is so much more popular than in England.

The first two albaums Iron Maiden and killers with Paul Di'Anno in my opinion are there two best albaums.

Even the albaums with Bruce Dickinson up to Power Slave are really good but after that didn't really care for the rest of them.

YES! Iron Maiden is my all time favorite band. I like the old stuff and the new stuff. Bruce's solo stuff is awesome too (way heavier than Maiden) Sure they've gotten writers block here and there but who dosen't . At least they've never changed their image and sound to be trendy!:banger:

Piece of Mind by far the best set of songs. Killers has about three good songs the rest you kind of forget. Its all about old school maiden not much into the newer stuff. Exxcept live Rio was awesome.

Ive lost alot of respect for Ozzy & especially his wife since the stunt they pulled on Maiden at Ozzfest during the summer. They should have issued an appology, when instead they insulted Bruce Dickinson, calling him 'a prick'. How much more unprofessional can you get? It was obvious they were afraid of getting upstaged because Maiden are head & shoulders better.

Its debatable of course but Iron Maiden are the best Metal act ever to me & in manys eyes...

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS A BIT OF USELESS TRIVIA!

Back in the mid 80's I was a HUGE Maiden fan and since I am an artist, I used to draw Eddie (Maidens beloved mascot) religiously on all my friends notebooks and book covers back in high school and when they found out that Derek Riggs (the artist responsible for creating Eddie) went by the "stage name" Dr Death, so that became my nickname and none of them to this day call me by my real name! LOL I guess it will haunt me forever....but Hell, it doesn't bother me a bit!:rofl:
