Now, back to the slaughter...
:D

Bring your daughter to the slaughter???? Remember that Bruce Dickinson solo album with that song??? LOL This one isnt off topic, he was the face of Maiden.

Bruce's solo version [the original version] of Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter is better than the Maidenised version. I was never keen on the Maiden version. Harris heard it and thought he'd add it to Maiden's arsenal.

They are both legendary bands, but id have to say Iron Maiden hve the edge as they are still going today. I saw them at Twickenham last year and they still rock!!! :thefinger
Sadly Van Halen are no longer together but 2 of the line up, Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar are now in a group with Joe Satriani (Solo) and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) called Chickenfoot! :nanner:

I'd have to say Iron maiden as I bought the single "The Number of the Beast" back in 1982

Woe to You Oh Earth and Sea
for the Devil sends the beast with wrath
because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding
reckon the number of the beast
for it is a human number
it's number is six hundred and sixty six

I grew up listening to both, I've been playing guitar now for 19 yrs. thanks to guys like Eddie Van Halen,Dave Murray and Adrian Smith, the walls in my bedroom growing up were basically Iron Maiden album-cover wallpaper.

I'm sorry, not to throw in a band thats off topic but RUSH trumps them both.

sorry ... and i know it's ones opinion.
you have your likes and dislikes ,and, i have my likes and dislikes
but Rush is probably one of the worst bands i have ever heard.
not to say they are not Talented musicians i just can't stand that all their songs sound exactly the same.
i heard an interview with Geddy Lee on Opie & Anthony years ago and the guy was cool as hell. had no "superstar" attitude was just a normal guy.
Rush= just not my cup of tea

I respect that to death bro. Thats the thing about "who do you like better" threads. They turn into "who do you like better" and "who do you think sucks"
RUSH is a band that has to be the listeners cup of tea,no doubt. They have a very untraditional style that you either love or hate to death, there's no in between. They're almost too unique from a fanbase-building point-of-view.

Man that is a tough one.
I just recently watched Flight 666, friggin' LOVED it but for this I would have to go with a 1984 Van Halen. It was just such fun to watch Van Halen back then. If the show were this evening, it would be Maiden, hands down.

Sorry, that wasn't really an answer.

"Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" or "Brave New World".

Anyone says "Number of the Beast", I challenge them to a fight. :p

What about the older stuff there first album "Iron Maiden" and then "Killers". I know I love dickinson myself but Paul Di'Anno was cool too. But yea I agree with you although its quite new "Brave New" World was one kick ass album and I wouldnt say "Number of the Beast" is best but its also kick ass and not due to its title song but for me personally "Hallowed Be Thy Name" and "22 Acacia Avenue rocks".

I think "Hallowed Be Thy Name" is the only song on that one I can listen to over and over. Then again, I think it's more that songs like "Run To the Hills" and "Number of the Beast" are really played out than that they're genuinely bad.

Yea man thats exactly it the other two kinda went mainstream so anytime they want to showcase anything by maiden its either one of them two bloody songs lol.

Just caught them (Iron Maiden) on a show on FuseTV called "Live From Abbey Road" and it was cool to watch them in that type of studio setting just going for it up close and just having a good time instead of the multi-million dollar rock spectacles that they usually put on!

I don't know I felt Iron Man was a bit better than Van Helsing. And -- ohh, oops.

Hello my baby, hello my darling, hello my ragtime gal! *zooms out of here*

:hatsoff:

I could not have put it any better. Run to the Hills is THE most overrated Maiden song ever. Even more so than The Numer of The Beast song if you ask me.
