I heard an interesting version of "Sunshine of Your Love", by Jimi Hendrix once. It was kind of weird, but good. I like a lot of the old blues songs, redone by bands like The Allman Brothers, The Who, and classical songs redone by bands like Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I typically DO NOT like, when a classic rock song is redone in a country format...because I'm not a fan of most country music. One of my favorites is "Whiskey in the Jar", by Thin Lizzy, and Metallica, and "Pictures at an Exhibition" by E.L.P.

I know of at least two CDs of Leonard Cohen covers, the one called "I'm your fan" is brilliant. James, LLoyd Cole, Echo and the Bunnymen, the Pixies, REM and on and on it is a cracking line up. I guess the most famous song on it is John Cale's version of Hallelujah. Which has been a bit done to death by now.

The other CD has bands on it like Bon Jovi. It should never be removed from the case.

I'd have to say a very well done cover is Simple Man by Shinedown. It's very powerful with his voice. Certainly worthy of covering the original by Lynrd Skynrd.

Really?? I hated this cover, absolutely ruined the song for me but this happens to be one of my top 5 favorite songs of all time. And I feel shinedown is a waste of O2...
