I think the only way the internet is making us "dumber" is by teaching kids (and some adults too) bad habits such as TEXT MESSAGE LINGO. If I'm talking to one of my friends (who are adults by the way) on AIM and they type something like "BRB" or "G2G" it makes my fucking skin crawl.
It makes me even more upset when people who do that try and justify it, like it's sooooo much easier to type "G2G" instead of "got to go". Wow, it saves you a whole .00006821332352 seconds. Woo hoo!

I don't see where it's a bad thing to be able to properly communicate, using even somewhat correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
There's nothing so annoying as having to pick through the post, email, or blog ramblings of someone who never mastered such complex things as paragraphs, the use of commas or periods, or a spell-checker.
If this makes me a grammar snob, so be it.

This is very true and in fact the reason I haven't been around so much online lately. All my Freeones activity dumbed me down all the way to the point I decided to move to WISCONSIN!!! :eek: :eek:
