Indigenous Peoples' Day replacing Columbus Day in L.A.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/08/30/columbus-day-to-become-indigenous-peoples-day-in-los-angeles.html

The Los Angeles City Council voted Wednesday to give Columbus Day a very different name: Indigenous Peoples’ Day. The council voted Wednesday to replace Christopher Columbus' name on the holiday with a celebration of indigenous people.

The proposal to replace Columbus’ holiday was introduced in November 2015 by Councilman Mitch O'Farrell, a member of the Wyandotte Nation tribe, because of what he called "Columbus' legacy of extreme violence, enslavement and brutality'' and "the suffering, destruction of cultures, and subjugation of Los Angeles' original indigenous people, who were here thousands of years before anyone else.''
The motion passed with the exception of one councilman — Joe Buscaino — who voted against the proposal. Buscaino is expected to introduce a second proposal that would schedule an Indigenous Peoples’ Day to take place on Aug. 9, and replace Columbus Day with "Embrace L.A. Day."

Conspiracy...
So, California is recognizing the Solutreans? ;)

Columbus Day is a joke, a Historical non-sense : Christopher Columbus never step foot in North America, never even saw its coasts. He saw thev Carribeans at Central America.
The first european to step foot in North America was indeed a venetians explorer called John Cabot, in 1497

No, Will. Don Cornelius died a couple of years ago.

This is where this PC stuff really starts to grate on me. "Indigenous Peoples' Day"?? Most people don't even know what the fuck that means. Just the fact that someone feels we need to take a whole day (WOW!) to recognize some group that identifies no one and to rid the name of Christopher Columbus from its title in the process tells me all I need to know about this ridiculous idea. I assume it's meant to pander to Native Americans (aka Indians) but I really don't see how it does. If not, what other "indigenous peoples" were (are) there on the North American continent? Sasquatch maybe?

Geezus what a fucked up concept. I am opposed to these special "Days" in principle since it trivializes the group supposedly being honored. Like, OK so now we have this "Indigenous Peoples' Day", right? A special day just for them? So what about "indigenous peoples" the other 364 days then? Fuck 'em?? :dunno:

Good one sup.

Now that we got rid of Colombus Day, which was the Tradional I-Talian American Day in the US, can we get a new one for the Italian people of the USA?
You got Saint Patricks Day for the Irish, and how do the majority use it?
Getting Drunk and boiling a piece of tough meat all day.
I think I talians should start celebrating Saint Joseph Day.

Jane Curtin: Millions of Americans are celebrating St. Patrick's day today, and here with a comment is our good friend Father Guido Sarducci. Father Sarducci?

Father Guido Sarducci: [ smoking cigarette ] Thank-a you, thank-a you. Most-a people are very aware that-a Saint Patrick is-a the patron Saint of-a Ireland. He lived around-a the year 400, 500, right in-a there. Most people-a know him because-a they think that he chased-a the snakes from-a Ireland. But actually, that's not-a the truth. Really, he didn't-a chase them, he kind of-a led them. He was-a kind like a pied piper for snakes. I don't know, it was-a just something about him that snakes liked-a to follow him around, you know. And-a you may think-a that snakes go very fast and they do if they're just going short distances. But, like-a, when they're on a long journey, they go very, very slowly. And-a Saint Patrick, he had-a to walk-a very, very slow, and all of the snakes followed him, and then he tricked them. He went into the ocean, and they all followed him, and he went way, way out, and he waited till they all drowned, and then heswam back in. That's-a what he did.

You see, he was a good-a saint. But he wasn't a great-a saint. Like-a Saint Joseph, the patron saint of Italy. He's a great-a saint and not just a good-a saint. You know, Saint Joseph's named day is-a coming up-March 19th, only two days away. But-a, there won't-a be no parades, no parties, not even a song for Saint-a Joseph. And-a the reason is-a because of-a Saint Patrick. You know, it's just like having a birthday two days after Christmas-you just don't get-a the same attention, you know. And it just-a breaks my heart that he was a great-a saint, and this good, mediocre saint gets all-a the glory.

More clever stupid stuff.
Next they gotta get rid of Presidents day.
They already consolidated it into one day now they gotta blast it back to Hell where it belongs.
A day for racist slave owners thats all.

I suggest they make a day for "People Who We Can't Tell What The Fuck They Are".
They deserve a day too.
Are they Black?White? Hispanic? Maybe a little Phillapino in there?
I can't tell what the hell they are, theyre so mixed up!

They deserve a day. Let's give them a day.

There's far more than that. Vikings beat him by a few hundred years. During the last big ice age there was practically ice coastline to follow from (what's now) France to Carolinas. A few years back in Washington State they found a ~10,000 year old Caucasian skull so...
Also considering the lack of civil government and record knowledge in Europe from ~500-1500AD they were likely a few Europeans who made it to North America who...
1 Decided to stay (or died here)
2 Didn't make it back to Europe
3 Made it back, didn't tell anyone (or anyone important enough to record it)
4 Made it back, told people, but weren't believed.
5 Made it back, told people, were believed, knowledge suppressed by local Monarch, Clergy, etc for own agenda
6 Made it back, told people, were believed, however the Black Plague just came through here killing over half the population including anyone who knows how to build a fucking boat!

Keep Columbus Day as a reminder and warning to future generations, and teach the truth in schools that he was an evil ahole, just like Hitler.

Yes he was evil like Hitler.
We now know this because THEY told us.

But he wasn't evil like Churchill and Roosevelt and Truman and LBJ because those guys were good.
We know this because THEY told us.

So Colombus Day was ok in 1970, Ok in 1980, 1990, 2000.
But in 2017 its not.
We know this because they told us.

So now THEY give us Indigeonous People Day instead.
A day for the people who were basically genocided by mainly White People.
More specifically mainly by White business owners through a bought and paid for government even back then and its military.

I bet most INdigeonos people have a sentiment similar to "Take your day and shove it up your ass" regarding this.
